Is it wrong that a like Navi, a lot?

Not at all. You can't really play the game without her seeing as she's your targeting system. Also, she not nearly as annoying as most people say. You don't ever have to read her messages and she usually just points out where to go next. Also, she works as a magical telephone.

interesting question, but I suppose navi wins this one by default for me because I haven't played skyward sword myself, and the few clips of fi I DID see didn't annoy me much at all.

whilst on the subject, I'd like to give an honorable mention to Midna, the only LoZ sidekick I ever gave a damn about.

I don't get all of the Fi hate and for a lot of the same reasons as Navi. If I don't want her to tell me obvious things like my hearts being low, then I won't push the button that makes her talk. The only times you have to listen to her are at points where you didn't have control over link in the first place, and outside of major plot sequences, these parts take less than three minutes so it's not as if she's really interrupting anything.

I don't HATE Fi. She doesn't annoy me like Navi did. Fi is just so unbelievably boring it's almost unfathomable. I mean her character is basically "has no emotions or personality whatsoever". Given that Link is mute, this makes for some pretty compelling character interactions.

I was really hoping they'd bring us another Midna. She was easily the best sidekick in a Zelda game. She had a personality, motivations and even a character arc. That's how you do it. Hell, you could almost argue Midna was, in a sense, the actual main character of Twilight Princess (she is, after all, the twilight princess).
