Probably. I wanted a trilogy, and now I will have it. I played 1 and 2, and skipped 2.5 (Brotherhood) and 2.75 (Revelations) so I'll read some plot summaries and then play AC3. It should be pretty fresh for me since I haven't played an AC game in almost 3 years.

But I'll read a few reviews and early impressions before buying it, just to make sure they didn't completely screw it up.

Since the PC release is delayed about a month, I'll read some reviews, watch Ubisoft's PC practices closely, then decide if I'll get it. If I had to make a decision now, it would be to get it.

I'm going to check the reviews first. Same with Halo 4. I want adventure games in the tradition of AC I/II and FPS's in the tradition of Halo 2/3, and any serious change from that tends to lead to CoD-like franchises. The key to arena shooters is that everyone stars out equal, and it's your own skill upon picking up a different weapon that leads to your individual success. As long as ACIII resolves some of the plot twists and adequately creates a completely new environment to fuck around in, I'll be fine, because AC is a different breed of game, but I mean, innovation and stuff would definitely help me stay interested. There were huge difference between Constantinople and Jerusalem, why wasn't that more obvious earlier?

Been playing it since I got back from the midnight release.
I've been playing for almost four hours and only just started playing as Connor. Kinda slow, but so far so good. Was not expecting that twist about Connor's father. The combat is a little tricky to get the hang of if you're used to the previous games, but I think it's better.

No spoilers, but I can say that, for the first few hours, this is one of the most unfinished AAA games I have ever seen come onto the market. Sound quality issues, character animations bugging out, downright ugly scenery, and game play animations being weird all over the place. First impressions aren't everything, but right now I'm really wondering how Ubisoft could put this out on the market and say it's a quality product.
I'm still enjoying the game, but there's some merrit to this. Half the time there's background characters wigging out in cutscenes. There was a mission where one of my guys was supposed to cause a distraction and lead some guards into an alley way, and the guards caught up with him before they were supposed to. They circled around him and he could run anywhere for nearly a full minute. They weren't attacking him, they had just completely surrounded to where he could run anymore. It was ridiculous

sounds like they released the PC version to console. i rember when consoles where just put the disc in and play, no installing, no patches, they just worked

oh the joy when consoles need day 1 patches to be playable :(

i mean if you have to go though the same shit you may as well get the more powerfully device if you have the money
