Over the last 49 years of James Bond movies, there have been 6 actors portraying James Bond, and countless actors considered for the role, but who is the James bond to you?
If you really want, you can say who is your favorite Bond and which one fits the role better, but for the sake of sanity, I'd prefer if you kept it to a single actor.

For me, James Bond will always be Pierce Brosnan.
He was the first James Bond that I ever watched, and I grew up with him as James Bond. He was also Bond in 007 for the 64, still one of the best games I've ever played.
I've almost watched every single James Bond movie; I love Sean Connery as Bond, and Moore has the suave-ness nailed, but Pierce Brosnan has every facet of Bond nailed in my opinion.

So fellow Escapists, who is James Bond to you?

Sean Connery, then Pierce Brosnan, and then Dalton.

Golden Eye is still my favorite Bond movie.

edit: For OP's sanity Sean Connery

Well, by the usual image of James Bond I would say it's Pierce Brosnan, but my personal favorite Bond has to be Daniel Craig.
As for the others:
Connery was good, but a little too campy
Lazenby was terrible
Moore was tolerable
Never seen a Dalton Bond movie.

I never saw any of the films with Sean Connery or George Lazenby; so out of the other four, my favourite is probably Daniel Craig.

Edit: Pierce Brosnan was also my first (and for a long time only) Bond. I just prefer the slick action of the newer Bond films to the feel of the older films. Pierce would be my second favourite, though.

I've only fully seen Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace so Craig is my favorite, but from what I've seen of the other movies, I think I would still prefer Daniel Craig to the rest of them.

Sean Connery has the voice and the personality, but Pierce Brosnan really does have the look. Goldeneye was one of the best Bond movies, it served as bridge between the cold war era and the modern era, plus it has Sean Bean as the villain. That being said the rest of the movies with Peirce Brosnan were pretty meh and Casino Royale was a very needed shot in the arm for the franchise.

They are all different enough to make me subscribe to the theory that "James Bond" isn't a person, but a code name that is given to whoever happens to be MI6's top agent at the time. As far as I'm concerned, it's six different characters, each with pros and cons balanced enough to make it impossible for me to pick one.
So I voted for Lazenby, just to show solidarity with The Cinema Snob. Represent.

I claim ignorance. Daniel Craig is a good actor, despite running on witty fumes, instead of dramatic gasoline.

Plus he looked awesome in those trunks, AMIRIGHT?

It's hard to say, I feel biased against the later movies because of my general "meh" about action movies, and the later ones focus much more on this aspect.

I would probably side with Connery. I agree with the guy who said that Brosnan is the most "Bond" looking of them.

I grew up with Pierce Brosnan, but all his movies were terrible. He wasn't that great either.

I've only watched Brosnan and Craig, so I'd have to go with Craig

Connery. The original, and the best. Brosnan comes in second for me, even though (sadly) he only had one movie that was actually good (Goldeneye). That was the writer's fault though, not his; he pulled off Bond very well.

Craig was a good choice, and I enjoyed his movies so far. But he's not Bond the way Bond should be. James Bond is a secret agent, not a run-n'-gun action star as he's been portrayed in the last two. His movies have been good, but he just isn't Bond. We'll see what they end up doing with him the next few movies though. If they end up turning his character in to what Bond is supposed to be, then all is good. If not, then it'll just be yet another 'gritty' reboot.

Connery, then Brosnan. I like Brosnan a lot, but there's something about Sean Connery that just can't be beat.

Sean Connery is the fave, with Brosnan in a very close second. I like Connery because I don't remember him using as many gadgets as the other bonds (Craig excluded) and was more apt to hand-to-hand combat or just plain shooting the guy. I'll admit I have a bit of man-crush on his voice too. I was basically raised on him, as my mother LOVED him as Bond (perhaps a bit too much).

Brosnan is up there because of Goldeneye (the game, haven't actually seen the whole movie from start to finish in 1 go, please don't hurt me) and Tomorrow Never Dies. That is easily one of my favorite Bond movies and it never really gets old.

Overall, I think Connery looks more suave than Brosnan.

Moore was almost meh with me and didn't really like Dalton at all (started but never finished The Living Daylights). Never saw George Lazenby and I'm ok with that.

I will say this though: Craig's Bond is a bit more ruthless than the other Bonds have been and from what my dad has told me (after reading a lot of the original novels) Bond was very ruthless and cutthroat, much like how Craig is performing.
