Poll: Who is the rightful MMO King?

I vote Guild Wars. It is by no means "The king of MMOs", but I find it the most enjoyable of the ones up there that I've played.

But naturally WoW is going to win, because of its player base.

I don't really think any MMORPG could be labelled as the "king"; they all tend to be the kings of their own fields, and MMORPGs are really varied. The good ones are, at least.

I don't like WoW because it's too addictive. But, I assume that's what playing an MMORPG is all about; feeding an addiction, because generally they aren't that much fun.

But yeah, I guess I'd label WoW if forced as the king. Hopefully it'll get toppled at some point.

LOL... and yet strangely wise.

Haven't played WoW in a while (so it might have gone downhill fast), but I've played all the others (except Runescape, whatever that is) and they're all pretty much the same, only WoW does it all so much better.

I also think LotRO deserves to be on this list though - it's easily as critically and commercially successful as Warhammer and AoC.

Star Wars The Old Republic. Alright, it hasn't been released yet. But, when it is, it will dominate the MMO genre.

Yes but teh in game econemys sucked, that why I dropped it and switched over to WoW.

The in game economies are alot better now, they just fluctuate alot like a real economy.

Blizz got lucky with there first MMO, Cryptic I would have to say is the King of making MMO's. I can't wait till there champions online. But once they release Star Trek Online all other MMO's will be dead to me.

Well, I'd have to say Ragnarok Online. I play on a P Server cause I'm too poor to actually afford the game. But you really get into it. The economy sucks right now, but that's because the forums are down. Also, I'm tired of hearing WoW hype. It gets old after so long cause that's all you ever hear about anymore, I've never played WoW, but the hype alone is what kills it for me. Why have a midnight release for an EXPANSION pack???

The original Neverwinter Nights for AOL. Far more replay value and an interesting story than any mmo I've run across since. Coming in second on my fun-o-meter was Tabula Rasa, followed finally by Warhammer Online to round out my top three.

Which is great and all but Im jsut not hardcore enough to keep up with it. WoW is eayers on my wallet (not having to pay for more charter slots).
