I only chose Bond because there was no option for Harry Pearce or Lucas North

EDIT: Forget them actually, I choose you: Ros Myers!

I'd say it depends on the kind of spying needing done.

There's James Bond- when you need to get information out of a person without beating them to a pulp

There's Sam Fisher- when you need to get something physical or physically onto a certain computer to get information or something like that, without anyone knowing or even being suspicious, but if something happens he can force his way through

Then there's Jason Borne- when you need something done and it doesn't matter who gets in the way or if they know who it was because they can't catch him, or if the main purpose involved beating the shit out of several people in the first place

EDIT: What about Frank Martin from the Transporter movies? Nobody knows who he is until he's already on their tail, and then they only know his name, not his history or what he's capable of.

If I'm choosing from the list, it'd be Bourne, but the way he was written in the books, not the movies. Sure, his mind was cracking up, but it was the attention to detail and strategic, (or as he called it, "geometric") thinking that made him so impossibly good at what he does.

Michael Weston from Burn Notice. Probably the best characterized spy in the media right now (in my opinion of course).

Michael Weston from Burn Notice. Thats my vote.
Infiltration, improvisation, creativity, Bruce Campbell as a sidekick.

Obviously Sir Harry Pearce.

Also (trivia time!) I believe that I am in almost EVERY class at my school as Peter Firth's son...

Someone you've never heard of. Because the best spies are people without faces, names or prestige. They slip in and out of people's lives without ever leaving a trace of their passage. They are bland, unassuming, forgettable individuals who never even register on the radar.
They are the true spies.

This guy. He's so fucking subtle, you won't even realise he was a double agent until the stinger of the last game. But then everything clicks into a different place, and you're left thinking: "Wow.".

I'm only aware of two of those, and both Jason Bourne and James Bond are terrible spies. They both get caught routinely, heck they both get caught in every single mission.

I had to chose James Bond out of all of them...

Jason Bourne is an assassin....not a spy.

Archer is close second.

James Bond is a great character, but he's not a great spy.
You can say that again.

I mean, how often would a real spy be able to introduce himself using THE SAME FUCKING NAME over and over again, despite the fact that the name would soon be known throughout the international underworld after having foiled several plans of supervillains?

Here's the short script for "James Bond: Ultra-realism".

Bond comes in saying: "My name is Bond... James Bond."

Obvious villain go: "Oh really?" *pulls out a gun and pop Mr. Bond right between the eyes*

In regards to James Bond being a great character I just have to say... Naaah, not really. He's a typical Mary-Sue if there ever was one...
