Bill, because he's old, and I can imagine him dying while trying to protect the other survivors.

Bill. From what I understand, Valve has had trouble getting the original voice actor to come back....

That wasn't very fun, so how about...Louis! Yeah, he'll die of a bad case of friendly fire the next time he leaps in front of my gun.
Hah! That's a good one, personally I'm betting Bill, He's old for one and he seems like he guy who'd sacrifice himself for the team.

Why does everyone the person is going to die a heroic death maybe he"ll go down like a coward

My guess is bill will die and then Francis finds out that Bill is his father and grows a beard like him.

I think it is players choice on who will die. If Valve was to say Francis died a lot of Francis fans would be sad and some may end up not liking Valve anymore for killing off their favorite character.

Leaving it up to the players is the best because that way their is no official character death confirmed by Valve. Just a character death confirmed by the players.
It's specifically said in the news story [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/99316-One-Left-4-Dead-Survivor-Wont-Survive-The-Passing] that there's a canon death. So yeah, Valve is killing someone off.

I went with Zoey, 'cause that would be completely out of left field.
A-HA! I knew they wouldn't have a character required to die in-game.
Read that news story closely. Yes, you DO have to kill someone off in-game. Valve will have a canon version, but players are free to choose who dies in the L4D1 DLC - it just won't have any effect on The Passing.
I meant that the canon death wouldn't be in the game. Nobody would like to start the campaign and say "Aw man, I'm playing as Francis? He's just gonna die later..."

That wasn't exactly what I had said before, was it...

....Nah. It wasn't one. It really is my understanding of the Bill scenario. If they don't kill him, then they'll have to have a different voice actor.

Ah. I misread, then. I thought you meant that dying wasn't a requirement. And although that sentence can mean these two things without it being immediately obvious (case in point), I apologise for the miscommunication.

I hope it's Zoey too. Just to piss people off, and get the extreme feminists crying "SEXIST"...god it's fun watching looneys put up a fuss.

Depends.

If Valve show the balls and commitment to the community that they're expected to, Louis will jump from safety towards the massive pile of pills surrounded by Tanks, screaming
PEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLSSSSSS
as loud as he can.

Can you imaging that; a desperate zombie attack, all hope is lost, then out of the corner of your eye you see this white and red mountain of small bottles. Whichever poor sap is playing Louis loses all control and Louis makes a dive for it. Bill hurries everyone into the evac vehicle (I dunno, a tricycle) and then everyone notices that a message has appeared in the top corner of the screen:

Louis has been killed

I hate Louis.

I think zoey will die. that way it'll just be 3 guys and they can swear, fart, belch, drink, talk about sports/girls. you know stereotypical guy stuff ;)

nah imo it'l be bill or francis due to Political correctness. Cant kill off the only girl, cant kill off the only non-white guy... So its the choice between the Vietnam vet or the biker...

Tbh i think francis will go because you cant really kill off a Vietnam vet, thats disrespectful.. and not many people like bikers anyway, look at australia, while ago a biker gang killed someone in the middle of an airport!

so sorry Francis. R.I.P(ieces)

Louis always seems to be the one dying when playing Left 4 Dead, so I wish I could put my money on that guy, but as everyone else, I just don't see Valve doing that, unless they are hoping for angry mobs storming their offices. Erhm. Guess Bill would be my next guess.

Considering that Francis and Zoey have been given interactions with Nick and Ellis respectively, that leaves only Bill and Louis.

My pick?

Louis. Bill still has a war to win.

According to horror movie logic, it will be Louis. And since Valve seems to go for the retro-horror movie vibe with L4D, it HAS to happen.

I'mma go with like almost everyone in this thread and say Bill. I can see him doing the whole selfless sacrifice thing.

I was thinking Bill. But then I got to thinking in the first opening movie Louis shines his light on the witch. Dumb ass! Then, he runs away from the group to chase down the heli only to get attacked by the hunter. Obviously Louis is dumb. This new enlightenment tells me that Louis could definately die, cuz he's dumb. It'd be better if Bill died, but now I'm not so sure.

By that logic, Ellis will be next to die. Seriously, in the opening of L4D2 EVERYTHING attacks him :S

Anyway, I think Bill, because of the whole voice actor situation.
