Microsoft's presentation was a joke. Nintendo did alright, witht the possible exceptions of mentioning Just Dance and the little hardware malfunction during the LoZ: Skyward Sword demonstration. From Sony's press conference I only caught Kevin Butler's speech as well as Gabe Newell's. They were both fine (even if Kevin Butler was a little over the top) but I find it strange that Portal 2 is coming to the PS3. Wasn't Valve pretty anti-console before?

I don't think anyone did anything incredible this year, Microsoft definitely loses because of kinectimals though. Fuck that looks dumb. I guess Nintendo won because of a new Zelda.
yeah kinectimals most definitely fails, though I have atleast one person among my Live friends who I know is gonna be getting it

What is your avatar?

OT: Yeah, I have a friend that is for sure going to get it too. He also traded in two working, completely fine Xbox's yesterday just to get the new one. He is ridiculous.

Nintendo. The 3DS actually works, Wiimotion plus works great with the new Zelda game, OOT REMAKE, Tons of other new games (Kirby's Epic Yarn looks like pure AWESOME) and all kinds of lovely things. All Microsoft did is rename Natal, and at times I wonder if Sony was there to do anything but announce that they still have a console exclusive with Infamous 2.

EDIT: I am aware that Microsoft had some games they announced, but here's the thing: We completely expected each and every one of them. There was nothing surprising or shocking about them at all. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood? Sure it looks awesome, but we all saw it coming. I will concede that everything Nintendo hashed out was also a sequel of some kind, but here's the kicker: few of them were expected. Sure, Kirby is an old franchise, but we haven't seen him around for a long time. Nobody saw him coming at E3!

It looks like Nintendo's biggest thing is a new DS. Not to be an ass but... Who cares? And I don't see why people are excited about more Zelda it's like the Stephen King of video game franchises.
It's nine times bigger than "LOOK GUYS WE HAVE MOTION CONTROL TOO HURR"

Definitely between Nintendo and Sony, I was completely disappointed in everything from the Microsoft conference. Games wise it was most likely Nintendo, they unveiled the 3DS, a new Kid Icarus game, and the next Zelda game, where as sony just showcased its "Move" and had an awesome announcement of Twisted Metal with some gameplay of Killzone 3. Microsoft...had what...Halo Reach gameplay and Kinect...boring >.<.

I'll get you next time Nintendo....NEXT TIME!

well, if you think about pure shock value. Nintendo wins hands down. everyone already knew that Microsoft was going all in with Natal/Kinect, and all of Sony's big hitters were leaked early; ie Killzone 3 in 3d was announced a few days prior, and Infamous 2 was the most recent Game Informer cover story.

Nintendo won because from all accounts of everyone who tried it. the 3ds acutally works like they said it would. plus... cmon. Kid Icarus?

Nintendo, pretty much hands down. The only way they could have really demolished would be by announcing a new Mother title...

I really don't get why everyone is all over Nintendo's... eh... Wii's?

Seriously who didn't cringe when even Miyamoto had trouble with the so-called "1 to 1" controls on Zelda? Giant Bomb's reaction was best, I was watching and going "oh no, no this is terrible, this is the WORST possible thing to happen!"

Of course I'm biased. Neither 3D nor super-duper-eye-strain-o-vision portable gaming systems excite me, so the 3DS announcement was largely overlooked by me. Overall, I'd say Sony won with Microsoft in close second. Kinect looks cool, I bought Rock Band for $150 bucks for the party game aspect alone, with Kinect I get an undeniably cool way to traverse the menus and a great party-game item. And with ESPN coming to XBox, it has further cemented itself as the media hub of the house, not even when college football starts up do I have a reason to turn the dang thing off!

Sony I think pulled ahead, Valve finally having support, Kevin Butler's awesome spot, and the Twisted Metal announcement, whether you like the games or not, was such a cool thing to see.

That was a bit painful, yeah. I mean, really, even if the reason was that there were wireless devices in the audience (which don't really believe, but whatever) that just made Miyamoto and Nintendo look foolish, as if they came to the ball and they had ketchup and mustard stains on their tux.
This and the fact that Link now has what look kind of like parachute pants are what make me not-quite-so-excited for the new zelda...that and those graphics looked like utter shit. It's like they took all the complaints about Twilight Princess being too brown and thought they all said "these graphics look too good". So now they decided to just cel shade OoT. I think the G4 people actually mentioned how bad the details looked. Still, it's Zelda, and it's always been fun for me in the past (though I don't know how many more "grab-objects-from-far-away" tools I can take).
I think Nintendo won in a lot of people's eyes because they really are appealing to their fan by bringing back a ton of their most popular franchises. Zelda, Other M, Golden Sun, Kid Icarus...man, Kid Icarus. I've seen so many old school Nintendo diehards ***** and moan about that franchise alone and how much they wanted another installment.

As for everyone talking about sequels...Nintendo is the master of sequels, because Nintendo has managed to crack the code of how long to wait before introducing a sequel. Yeah, other companies do a very similar thing, just constantly releasing the same games with bigger numbers on the end, but they don't put enough time between games for anticipation to build properly. Nintendo waits patiently, letting the fans wonder when the next installment is coming out before they begin their dark work of bleeding stones. That's why Nintendo "won" this time, and that's why they'll probably "win" every other 2 or 3 E3's. They know how to wait and strike when the iron is desperate.

Weren't Sony and Microsoft's big things their Wii-clones? Doesn't that make Nintendo the winners by default?

Zelda, kirby, mario, megaman and soon sonic again are the only reason I still own a console. Game play for the win. :)

Nintendo. I've never cared for the new Nintendo stuff, but their press conference REALLY impressed me (especially compared to the Microsoft and Sony ones).

Kirby's Epic Yarn (just unique) and Epic Micky (choice and consequence, liek an arrpeegee) both look great.
