APB, that MMO Realtime Worlds has been working on, came out recently and I've been thinking about picking it up(Or more accurately, commiting myself to it.) How many people are considering getting it or if you already have it is it worth it?

I might get it... the whole level of customization going into it is impressive and Crackdown was great, so it sounds like a good idea, but I'm going to wait a couple months to see if it's still active.

I chose 'Pudding' because I'm unsure. I'll try the trial if there is one at some point.

I will buy it once I get a credit card that can pay over the internet. Darn banks and their complicated paying structures...

I mean, the customization is nice and all and I know the Social District is permanently accessible once you bought the game, but to play in the Action Districts, where the actual game takes place, you need to pay for a subscription, and the only way to do that is through buying in-game points with real money via a credit card.

It's a nice system, but you still need a credit card. One that you can use to pay for stuff on the internet, that is.

NOTE: The above system is what I understood from the many bits of information around the internet. The official website states that the Social District is accessible unlimitedly. I don't know if this is actually the case, as I have never actually played the game, though I intend to do so one day.

No, I won't I can't be bothered to afford a new MMO.

Anyway, LOTRO is becoming free in a month or two, so I don't see why that shouldn't fulfil any MMO cravings I get.

I played the demo and it was total crap.

Either all the roads or all the tires on all the cars in the entire world are made out of butter in that game.

Once I can get a straight answer to the question of fees. First I heard there were no fees, then there are, then there?s no fee for the first 50 hours but after that you have to pay, or that there?s a fee if you were born in a month with an ?r? in it.
I?ll pay $60 for a good game but I?m not going to pay any sort of fees after that. If they want extra money, they should set up microtransactions for items to buy like the D&D mmo or Little Big Planet.

Was in the beta, too many problems that the game appearently still have. I would say avoid it for a couple of months.

Meh even with the reduced monthly fee, this game isn't that fantastic. Its the Sims with Guns and you live in your Car. Its right back to origional GTA for the car physics :( Sure there is some hits we have to take for the populaton of the servers but damn. Its been a long long time since I've driven in physics this bad. And sure there isn't the regular level grind, they've just redefined the grind. You have to unlock everything and be at the right threat level to use it. For an initial offering though I have to say they've done a fairly good job at eliminating the bugs everyone said were in beta. The only thing left is a slow memory leak. And some optimization of the code. All in all 5/10 .. Nothing special. If you want the soundtrack, grab it instead of the game.

And Fees go by either installments buying hourly time to be used in action districts. The Social district is free all the time, and yes the gold farmers are already there and waiting for you. Or you can go with a $9.99/month charge for unlimited action zone time.
