Sounds like a great plan to me. I admire your drive to change your life if youre not happy with it. You are deffinately not alone my friend.

I'm with you! Well, in spirit anyway. I don't have the means or the guts to do it myself. Which is why I think it awesome that you do =D Go you!

Good idea! I will be doing much the same it seems as I am number 7 on the waiting list for Niagara College. With any luck 7 people will drop out and I'll be moving to a new city, getting a new job and starting on the Game Development course :)

I hope your move brings you great fortune and opportunities.

i've always wondered what people like you must think... who decide to change everything about their life, move somewhere different, get a new job, etc, only to find out it's pretty much the same because your expierences are based on your interpretation of events and simply changing towns isn't going to change that...

so please... when you decide to change again in 6 months (having gone "well it was easy 6 months ago! i can do it again!") come and tell us, just so we know

nevertheless, good luck to you

I live in Bend! ...That's three-ish hours away, sure, but I moved here to get away from my life on the East Coast.

Sometimes a breath of fresh air can help you realize a lot of things. Whether good or bad, you'll at the very least learn something about yourself. I found that moving out here was exactly what I needed to give me the motivation to get back into college, live on my own, and begin down a path that I'm currently quite happy with.

You're never alone, no one is. I wish you the best of luck, and hope everything works out for you.

I can't quit yet. I still have 2 years left.

I swear... all that 2012 shit better not happen. Armageddon would just completely ruin my day...

I thought Portland sounded nice ever since I read Blue Like Jazz. They lived in the forest and wrote about the rain. I'm not a hipster douchebag though, I swear.

You want to go somewhere that's (from what I hear) rainy and depressing?

Why not Charleston? We have nice, sunny beaches! The music is probably better in Portland, though. Unless you get into bluegrass.

I have to ask why Portland? That just seems like a random destination.
well i visited my sis and a few relatives from my dads side of the family, and it's just the most wonderful place in america. everybody is so nice even though you're a stranger, it's got one of the weirdest random collective of people i've seen since new york. plus medicinal marijuana is a perk. and even though it does rain like, a LOT! when it's nice out it's just so beautiful, all the houses have rose bushes in their yards. and the people, besides being really nice, are mostly young hipsters like myself.

the best way i can describe it is like a giant commune w/o as many tree-hugging hippies. it's literally (in my opinion) heaven on earth.
