In one night he destoryes an entire species of vampire. Wipes them from the face of the earth. One species down 2 to go.
You mean three to go, there is also the Jade court that Shiro mentioned. Although, Harry would have somewhat of a hard time, seeing how they've never met.
Good point but you can forgive the slip as they were mentioned once in book 4.

...alright, you're forgiven. This time. Make sure you don't repeat your mistake, OR ELSE!

Spike was with the Scoobies for a good while, so he counts. Right? If not, then Angel. You can't say Angel isn't a vampire hunter. He's totally a vampire hunter.

Then again, Willow turns into a legitimate badass. And Wesley. Wesley's totally a boss. And Fred is cool too, in that short timeframe between "scared little girl" and "evil elder god". And I always liked Xander, despite mostly being there for moral support. He's also my namesake, so that's cool.

I don't know, just Scoobies in general.

I have to go with the Daywalker, Blade, but there are a lot of good ones. Elvis from Daybreakers and Lucian from Underworld are also right up there, along with the classic Van Helsing and his ripoff Belmont.

But when it's all said and done, only one has been the focus of a Del Toro movie, it has to be Blade.

No mention of the Frog Brothers yet...?

Come on!

...

Well played, sir. Well played indeed!

I feel like I'm forgetting someone, but until it pops into my head, I'll go with... any human that kills Twilight vampires? Hmmm... no, that might be opening a door that I'd rather not walk through. Blade and the Frog Brothers will do until I can piece together what I am forgetting.

It was really hard to choose between Simon Belmont and Buffy... but I am giving it to Simon. There is just something so traditional about him it's quaint.

I'd say 2 and a half. Lets not forget the black court was practically destroyed when a certain writer published a book on how best to kill black court vampires. So even vanilla mortals know how to deal with them (Which is if i remember correctly one of the big vampire fears since they know a full scale human effort could simply erase them).

And anyway Ebenezer McCoy would win simply becuase of his methods. Vampire killed your friend? Drop an old soviet satalite on the guys castle.

I'm not really familiar with any anime vampire hunters except Alucard from Hellsing, but I do love classics so Van Helsing gets my voice.

I'll give McCoy the style points, but Harry wins out for sheer magnitude. And what he had to do at Chichen Itza was just damn cold. And he knew it. Still my favorite literary character though :)

Still going with D for best vampire hunter.

Sam and Dean Winchester.
I was going for these and the option "other" but then I thought that they don't ONLY kill vamps as the rest in the poll so I thought they might not suite the alternative so I went with van Hellsing.
But if they are a viable option I go for the Winchester brothers :D

EDIT: Oh shit, I forgot - the hunters from John Carpenter's Vampires! I think they are just so cool - they are normal dudes who go against immortal superbeings. The start of the movie has one of the coolest scenes I've seen
Couldn't find the scene itself but it's in the trailer - when they harpoon the vampire and then reel her in the sunlight. It was awesome.
That movie took the characters and opening scenes from an excellent book and utterly destroyed the rest starting about 35 minutes in. John Steakley, Vampire$

Wow, only one person said D?
Ok to be fair he is quite underrated compared to the mainstream vampire hunters and I only seen him in one of his movies but that movie alone made me think he is a total badass. I mean he had a robot horse and one of his hands has a mouth to talked back!

I'm going to go with Gabriel Belmont, just finished playing though Lords of Shadow again, I love that game. A combat cross with a blessed stake at the end of it, definitely a smart move if the vampire manages to close in past his holy chain whip.

I know the game got a bit of flak from fans, but I honestly like it and am looking forward to the second.

Gus Elizalde or Mr Quinlan from the strain trilogy. A gangster turned vampie hunter and a half humnan, half vampire who together decapitate Vampires withy shotguns, swords and explosive crossbows in the neck, whats not to like? I can't wait for the TV series based on the books next year.
