World War 3 or how we would envision it wouldn't ever occur. Gone are the days of massive armies slaughtering one another. Already we are in a world where more and more of our warfare is conducted through cybernetics, special forces, and small-scale urban skirmishes.

England vs Wales, and it will go as follows:

Scotland will convince the English to invade Wales, for reasons that I haven't been able to make up yet, and the Irish will come over and help the Welsh, again don't know why, then the Americans will fight the British, since most of them think they're Irish anyway.
After this all the Commonwealth countries, such as Australia, Canada, and I can't think of any more, will fight against the Americans, Welsh and Irish, and eventually causing a stalemate.
After some months of stalemate, the many weakened countries will sign a treaty, penned by the Scottish, that has a secret clause in it, which will sign over all power from the waring nations to Scotland. Thus revealing the true plan behind Scotland convincing the England to invade Wales. It's because of many years of secret, and very precise, planning to create...the SCOTTISH EMPIRE!!!

Also, somehow most of Europe, Northern Africa, Turkmenistan and China get involved in this war too, but I haven't thought up how... yet.

I'm going to say israel vs turkey when turkey will be part of the EU.(hope it never happens) Some countries in the EU will defend turkey and America will ofc defend Israel. After a time it will be USA vs EU.
Turkey? part of Europe? don't make me laugh, especially now that it's gone so islamist. Also, in case there was a Turk-Israeli war, it would have to be on sea, and Israels navy is top noch technology(small but versatile), whereas Turkey has a couple of big WWII era aircraft carriers(big but weak). No USA/Europe intervention would be needed.

also I voted India-Pakistan, they both hate eachother, they both have Nuclear weapons and, most importantly, they're both idiots.(the governments, not the people)

honestly i think that anyone who think china and the US will go at it are paranoid, we need each other to support our economies and im sure China couldn't support a long war (because seriously, even our citizens are armed to the teeth) without going into a depression.

Now north Korea and South Korea on the other hand, that shit almost started a month ago.

and lets be honest, israel could take on the WHOLE mideast if they wanted to.

Sadly talks about turkey joining EU has still not stopped. I'm not for it either since they are geographically not in europe and the culture is very different.
As for the start if Israel does something stupid like start the war and the Turks are in the EU and play there cards right and get some allies it could happen.

As for Israel doing stupid things watch this.

Hiring terrorists to fight Turkey seems like really stupid.

It is a lot of if's but for a WW in the near future I think it's the most likely case. Which is good news btw since that means a WW coming seems unlikely at this time.
