Poll: Why all the hate on Cats?

I like cats... But since Im allergic to them, I also don't like them... Love catgirls though...

I think all the hate cats get in movies and such are from all the way back in medieval times when they associated cats with witches...

I don't get the whole deal about cats not caring about you unless it's feeding time.
I've had two cats that both were huge attention whores. One of them's dead now though.
If you're on the computer, they'd sleep in your lap. Or your keyboard. Or bite your toes.
If you're watching a movie, they'd sleep on your lap. Or drink your beverage. Or bite your toes.
They'd always stroke themselves all over you while purring like fucking diesel engines.
A pet can't get much more loving than that.
I know, cus I have three dogs too.

Maybe its because you actually (usually anyways) have to work at it in order to get a cat to like and trust you...whereas dogs love even abusive owners like the dopes they are...

Granted I have nothing against dogs (I own 3 dogs and 3 cats) but I have a much lower opinion of their intelligence...

1) This is a public forum, your opinion isn't greater than mine. It is equal.
2) I bring this up because of the recent Cats VS Dogs movie. Sure I know why a lot of people don't like cats but there is still no harm in talking about it.
3) How is it lazy? It was on my mind and I wanted to see what the general populace thought. The same goes for all threads. By your logic, not a single thread should ever be created ever. Some douche bags don't like Polls, some VS threads, some don't like ones based on TV shows or whatever. You're just another clone of those people that spew destructive criticism from their mouths and say it's 'advice'. At least I actually put a bit of work into my threads rather than some "Obama is gay, who's with me? [/END]" sorta thread.
4) "Trying to show cats being cute": The images were from stereotypical cliches of evil cats.
5) Normally I'm open to listening to others opinions but an opinion about not letting someone expressing an opinion because in their opinion it's not a worthwhile opinion is the dumbest shit that I simply can't let go. If you don't like it... DON'T CLICK IT!
6) Are you trying to insinuate that I am a troll? Even though your the aggressive one putting down my opinion? Can we all say 'hypocrite'?
7) "make a thread that has some sort of thought behind it".

Because cats have the capacity to look evil. You won't find many(if any) dogs with that malevolent look in their eye.

And on a very biased note, dogs love you unconditionally, whilst cats only love you until you're done feeding them.

2) I already acknowledged that our opinions are equal, neither one is greater than the other.
3) I always get 'uppey' when people put down others for making a thread. Personally I don't see any point, it's the moderators job to ban / moderate them if they are being inappropriate. Not us. The only threads that I would personally complain about (and I've seen them before) are the ones that have some odd title and contain nothing more than a "=)". Now THAT would be a pointless thread.

Why do people hate cats?

We all know of Witch Hunts. Cats were also killed en masse during those, because it was believed that witches can turn into cats. That, i believe, was the greatest contributing factor to ruining cats' reputation. There's also the matter of dogs being "loyal", disregarding the fact their loyalty comes from being completely mindless.

And for some fucking arbitrary reason, with the advent of "moving pictures" cartoon-makers grabbed onto this cliche and fucking catapulted it to new heights, the fuckers. As a result, we have whole FUCKING generations brainwashed into believing that "cats are evil", making more and more of such material and creating a self-sustaining loop. Per each Swat Kat, Ratchet, or Pink Panther we have ten if not twenty "ZOMG EVIL" felines... yet another fact that makes the idea of exterminating humanity seem good to me.

I was in the car with a cousin of mine not long ago. I remember he was trying to impress me by driving fast and other crap. Frankly, that didn't really impress me. At one point however he deliberately swerved to try and run over a cat. He laughed after-wards. I looked at him confused and asked him why he did that? He told me something along the lines of that it wasn't the first time he has swerved to kill a Cat.

You know what you should do? Grab his head and bash it against some hard surface. Repeatedly.

When I was talking about the moderators I wasn't referring to you. I was talking about threads that are literally empty, are illegal, are about molestation, etc. That sort of thing.
