While the our team is losing due to the lack of TEAMwork the 8 year old complains that the team aren't "Pro". Usually resulting in them "Rage quitting" we lose no thanks to them. I can't see the amusement of shouting at people who live miles away. So I ask you do you think that online gaming is getting too angry?
whoa were loosing our team must not be pro maybe your both pro and the other team is better or the 8 yr olds are spending to much time whinging

this is why the PC rocks with Dedicated servers you go to a familiar server that doesnt have the random douches spouting hate because everyone knows each other

your problem is you aren't playing team fortress 2.
Fixed for you. It's true that Xbox LIVE is generally full of assholes but Team Fortress 2 is one of the rare exceptions. It's the 360 game I've played most and I've found people there to usually be really friendly and mature. It's the only 360 shooter in which I feel comfortable speaking into my mic. It's really not like Halo or MW2 or Gears of War.
No kidding? I've got the orange box on my 360 but obviously, since it's an option, I opt to play TF2 on my PC. So it really seems to be the game that attracts maturity huh? Interesting. I know every time I pop online for a little TF2 action I'm always (going on years here) surprised that people are so calm.

TF2 obviously makes you a better person.

There's definitely something special about TF2 compared to other Xbox 360 online shooters. It might be the wacky atmosphere the game has, the fact that it's a team game through and through, or maybe it's because TF2 has a much smaller playerbase than Halo or MW2, but Team Fortress 2 players are definitely often different in a positive way. Actually 80% of my XBL friends I've found in TF2.
I can understand you prefer the PC version though, the lack of updates on the 360 really hurts. (And I hear it's even worse on the PS3!) If I ever upgrade my PC Team Fortress 2 will be the first game I get.

I get pretty pissed off at Modern Warfare 2 sometimes, but it's more to do with stupid things like enemies spawning all around you or teammates who camp in doorways or stuff instead of, you know, playing the actual game. I don't actually yell at people or call them fags or whatever.

It is pretty frustrating in general when you do bad for no reason, but it's not really the end of the world. I actually find hate messages and offensive in-game chat pretty funny, if only because I take it with a sense of irony :)

That's Xbox Live for you. I only play Demo with friends, no one seems to talk online at all, not that I care, we just chat on vent. If I'm playing solo I play TDM and trashtalk people in chat. :)

Wait, you listen to people on MW2? Mute every little fucker who comes into your game lobby. Success.

You know, I think there should just be a mute all button.

If I could, I would mute myself aswell. I would hate to be playing with me when I'm raging at spawnkills/whatever BS happens on CoD games.

When I originally had my 360 I played Team Fortress 2 a lot. I think the teamwork in TF2 is quite amazing since everyone knows what role they should be playing and I never had one person trash talking. Makes me wanna buy the Orange Box again.

Losing is frustrating. Losing to people who you know for a fact are worse than you is VERY frustrating. Especially true in games that contain a lot of either cheap tactics, luck, or randomness. MW2 is a good example of a game that has all of those issues in spades.

I tend to get more angry at single-player games, usually platformers or the like (Shadow of the Colossus, you may be amazing, but the frekkin fourth colossus tried my patience FAR too much.) Online games, I just turn off the voice chat and try to enjoy myself.
