Poll: Why are you Single?

Had a girlfriend of five years, we were talking about marriage and such before things sorta fell apart suddenly.

Still reeling over that whole thing, and that's been about a year and a half ago. She wasn't just my girlfriend, but my best friend.

Lately I just haven't seen the point in getting into a new relationship.

Said to myself the next girl I date has to be a scene/rocker/emo girl, the place where I live doesn't have alot of these type girls so I am boned.

I'd say a combination of picky (not that picky, but try living in the buckle of the bible belt being a metal head agnostic that doesn't do drugs or drink, and then try and find someone that is even close to the same), low self esteem, and the old cliche 'haven't found the right person yet'. Mostly say that because all the girls I tend to really like end up being crazy...

I've never really tried to get a girlfriend, so it's most likely my fault. Although I am kind of picky when personality and interests are concerned.

got a little under $20,000US in college loan debts, trying to buy a car, and looking to save up another $20-$40,000 to get into grad school for a master's degree. Yeah, girlfriends are expensive.

Probably low self esteem considering that I could easily check all the boxes except "by choice". Although I'm unsure if I'm too poor since I'm not really poor, just somewhat poor.

I really just have a general lack of interest. While dating is nice and all, I really don't see myself attracted to girl if I know that our interests don't mesh. As for finding people who meet that criteria, I usually don't ask them out due to not really putting romance as a high priority.

I really don't have the slightest interest in pursuing a romantic relationship, and other than the one time a stranger asked me for my phone number (after asking if I had a girlfriend and learning the answer was no - nothing came of that though), nobody is pressing the issue. It's been brought to my attention from time to time (via way of my sister) that various girls I know find me attractive, but since they never bring that up with me, I don't have to deal with it either way.

And since I'm perfectly content to be a bachelor for perpetuity, that's fine with me.
