I bought Black Ops? ...When did that happen...?
In all seriousness, I played it at a friend's house for the campaign. A few hours later after laughing hysterically at the ridiculous ending, I then went and played Modern Warfare 2's campaign again...also known as the one I actually liked.
Ridiculous ending?!

Haven't you heard?! It's the best ending of all time!

Obligation. Everyone else had it and I was lonely lol. Single player starts off really interesting, but kinda gets lazy about halfway through.I've never cared for COD multiplayer, but I played it a lot cuz most the people I know on Xbox Live were transfixed on that game. Zombies was actually fun. For like a week. Overall, very underwhelming. Treyarch has yet to make a good Call of Duty, so I obviously won't be buying the upcoming one.

Also, I was somewhat intrigued by the Cold War setting.

None, all my friends had it. So I got a bit of that forever alone feeling. *Weak to group pressure*

I didn't.

The Navy thought it would be a great idea to make a deal with Activision and insert recruitment fliers inside the boxes.

I had no reason to buy it in the first place, that made me loathe it.

And I'm glad I did not waste my money. That "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!" moment at the end was eye-hemorrhagic.

Why did I ask for BlOps for christmas? 'Cause Vietnam

I was looking forward for a Vietnam Call of Duty.

I want someone to make a Vietnam Call of Duty. Because Black Ops was definitely not a 'Nam game.

It was a pretentious and very predictable Cold War "sleeper agent" plot with a small "SUPER DUPER SOG DEVGRU FORCE RECON NAVY SEALS NINJAS" section that happened to be in a jungle.

Where's the "I haven't played it" option? I haven't bought it, or played it, and I don't want to. I've never played any CoD game, although I am somewhat interested in MW1 and WaW...Really not interested in Black Ops though, from what I've seen.

the campaign.
I really like stuff set during the cold war and was hoping for a longer game.
I still want my money back....
I bought it a few days after release if it matters.

I got it because...because...well...erm...actually I have no idea why. The COD series has always found its way onto my shelves one way or another. I still think Black Ops is the best so far, then World at War then Modern Warfare.

Well, Black Ops was actually the first COD game I baught, with my own money. W@W and MW2 were my younger brothers games. I baught it because I was assuming the MP would be fixed, in comparison to MW2...

...I was wrong...

I bought MW2 after all the cheers for MW1. This game made me wish I could delete things off my steam list even if it didn't mean a refund. I have not considered buying modern shooters since.

I didn't buy it. I won a copy of it in a contest at my former employer, an electronics store.

Single player was... alright. Never really got into the zombie mode. Played multiplayer for about 20 or so hours, hit my first prestige, and never really bothered to play it again since I like CoD4 and MW2 better.

MW2 was my first CoD game, and I bought it to play with friends. I liked the MP well enough, but I wasn't really looking to buy BLOPS. However, friends bought it so I kind of had to follow if I wanted to play - plus, zombies. So I sold MW2, got BLOPS, and it was pretty enjoyable. However, I'm not getting another CoD game unless somethings change. Right now I'm more than happy with BF3 if I need to play a shooter.

Single player.

I've been waiting for Call of Duty to turn to Vietnam ever since 2003, when the original CoD came out, and even more after the expansion, UO.

And that's also the main reason why I gave Tryarch another chance to redeem themselves.
I really enjoyed the SP, up until it bugged out and I couldn't finish the campaign.

Big middle finger to you Tryarch

Because it seemed fun to me, mostly the single player. It looked like it would be a fun diversion with smooth action, interesting locales and an under-used setting. I wasn't disappointed, it was a lot more varied than I previously saw in a CoD game.

The multiplayer too was a pleasant surprise after MW2's mess. It didn't hold my attention for extremely long, but it was pretty well balanced and very varied thanks to the Wager matches.

I got it for the multiplayer because I enjoyed World at war a lot and trusted treyarch to deliver better than infinity ward. They did indeed deliver a solid game but it was around now that I was getting bored of Cod so I didn't play it much.
