Poll: why do creepers exploded?

ok so me and a friend where trying to come up with a reason for creepers exploding and this is what we think: creeper a walking seed pods that spread their seeds by exploding that then form more creepers. what do you think?

They don't mean to, they're just made out of a substance that reacts violently with human skin and clothing...they only want your love, even if it kills them [and you].

Their body composition contains amounts of sulfur, which is probably the origin of their explosiveness, but that's all I really know.

Em they drop gun powder so if you want to look at it logically which we shouldn't it is mine craft they probably have an inbuilt fuse that can blow it up.

They don't have any hands, so they can't mine, so they have an ever-growing hatred for all the fun the players are having mining away and building stuff. They also happen to be suicidally depressed and also capable of spontanious detonation.

Well i always though they just wanted a hug, and when they got close and saw you not giving a hug, but instead trying to run away, they got mad and exploded. That's the end of that mystery!
Seriously, you should try it out. Go, hug a creeper. He might not explode.
And maybe there's an actual creeper-hugging mod out there that makes this possible.
And if it doesn't exist, then what are you waiting ?! Go, make it!

They're stuffed fulled of pop rocks and coke, when they get near they're so excited they finally go boom. And as annoying and "gah!" as they are when you meet them underground I wouldn't have them any other way
