Poll: Why do you buy Madden?

I don't, because I have no interest in football, neither the American version nor the Brazilian version.

I must confess that I don't really know what 'brazilian football' really is. On topic, i don't believe in buying a game that only manages to get progressively worse every year.

The last one I bought was '08, at which point they stopped making Madden for the PC. But luckily, the guys at football-freaks.com created a Madden 09 mod, and update rosters. So I don't think I'll be getting a new one any time soon.

Though I'm hoping that Backbreaker from NaturalMotion can supplant Madden. I'm sure there will be a community that will start coming up with NFL jerseys and rosters for the game, as only Madden can use NFL players.

I would imagine the people that buy Madden games year after year are just enthusiastic football fans. We perceive the games as being virtually identical, but to the hardened fan, every year means subtle changes in roster, stats and rivalries, as well as new games to reenact.

If you think about it, it's a lot like the idea behind releasing a new Street Fighter game every few years; same basic rules, new cast.

We should gather as many people from the escapist as we can, then go to rome and duke it out in the colloseum. That would be awesome.

Oh and as for the topic, i don't buy madden or any other sports game... they give me less satisfaction than getting a blow-job from my vacum cleaner
