Part of it is, like you said for my pride. I take pride in the fact that I'm a good person. There are times when I've been tempted to do the immoral/ethically unsound thing, but I've managed to do whats right in the end. To much detriment of my wants sometimes, but I prefer to be the exception, not the example.

I voted altruism because I don't expect any reward, but I don't do good things all the time. Sometimes I'll just say fuck it and keep moving, so I kinda do good things when I feel like it.

Because in the end i will redeem my actions prior to my enlightenment... Or because the world has its fill of s***heads and i beleive its time to eve out the balance once again. Hmm. Maybe both of those reasons.

Because I was raised that way. Even right now, being the rebellious teenager I am, doing right just feels...right.

Because I feel bad about doing bad things.

I couldn't be an effective villain if I wanted to.

Still, when possible to do nothing at all, that is my usual course of action.

Why? Depends. Sometimes im a vindictive bastard who would condemn a man to death if i didnt like him, though for my friends i will do whatever it takes to help them knowing i will get the same. Consider me Neutral Evil with a tiny, shining pebble of gold lodged in my blackened heart.

All I care about is my friends and love ones, the rest of the population can piss off. Of course if I do help a random stranger, I never really feel anything afterward. all I got to say is that I am so pro swine flu that its crazy.

Being a robot, I may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

I dont always do what is right, I do what will benefit me the most in the end. Whether being kind to someone or stepping on them I'll try to do what is most advantageous to me, and the only time I'll do what is right when it is not most beneficial is only when the consequences of being punished for wrong doing overshadows the benefit.

I am a noncognitivist and don't believe that there is any true/false value to moral claims. So I do good for my self-image.

I voted for the real-world reward. Even though it's far from always the case; being good for someone rarely leeds to any form of long-term appreciation.

There's a reason my nicknames are Angel or Mama... I have a tendency to bail mates out when they need it the most without expecting anything back, but I'll admit I get a rush from doing something nice.

Case 1: My best friend had her hours cut dramatically. I went down to her landlord and paid a hundred dollars off her rent that week without telling her.

Case 2: Less impressive, but two nights after I'd met my former boyfriend, he was saying that he literally had no food in the house and it was two days until payday. So I took him to the nearest supermarket and bought him a few days food. Never asked him for anything and I'd only known him two days.

Really? I don't think anything of it. I've been in the situation where I've needed a little help from someone kind, so why not pass the good karma on?

That's my view, anyway...

Because it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Also because of my ego. I like it when people percieve me as a good guy. Oh, and also because I have an innate empathy for other living beings. So I'd guess it has many factors making me try to be a somewhat decent human being.

I've no reason to do otherwise, generally. That's not to say that I do the right thing all the time, Or even that I have a clear definition of what "right" is. In fact, when you get right down to it, when is there ever really a clearcut right and wrong path anyway?

Short of that, 'Cause I'm a nice fukkin' guy!
