Personally I have only seen Transformers and I for one enjoyed it greatly. But it seems like every where I go someone is knocking the guy. Why do YOU hate him. I just want some different veiw points.

Crap, I read the poll wrong and voted no, when I meant to say yes. I personally enjoy his films.

Because he relies too heavily on special effects an explosions than storytelling and plot. Just try to find a MB movie with no explosions.

I don't HATE him, but I don't think that his movies are as good as they could be. He relies on spectacle and action to sell the entire film, often leaving the plot and character development on the back burner. His films just don't have as much substance as I would like.

He makes summer blockbusters with lots of explosions. What's not to like?

Not everyone can be Christopher Nolan.

So what other films has he done?
Pearl Harbour, for one. But while that was explosions laden (and rightfully so for the first half of it) it did give way to some plot and character development in the second half, so it's not entirely true what people say.

He is horrible...and to be honest considering that renting movies is cheaper than going to the cinema, its time to dump Michael Bay in the dark side of Europa!(the moon)

The Transformers movie sucked. Take that, fanboys.

Of course, it wasn't simply because of Michael Bay's (questionable) take on directing. It's only because I dislike ridiculous movies. This includes any and all super hero movies.

I liked Transformers well enough, as it was a fun little mindless spectacle. What I don't like is the fact that he gave Ben Affleck money by featuring him in one of his movies (Pearl Harbor). The only reason Good Will Hunting and most of Kevin Smith's movies can get away with featuring that talentless hack is because the sheer awesome of Matt Damon and Robin Williams in the former and Jay and Silent Bob in the latter (and other characters specific to their respective movies and not quite as universally featured as the aforementioned duo) outweigh the Affleckian suckitude with their awesomeocity.

I thought Transformers was good, and I don't care what anyone says I liked The Island, and Bad Boys 1 & 2. How does liking giant explosions make you lame or gay?

I loved both Bad Boys 1 and 2. He's not a particularly deep or nuanced director, to be sure, but those were two of the most enjoyable films I've ever seen.

Ever seen The Boiler Room? Seriously, Affleck's best role, because all he has to do is be a rich douchebag. Which isn't really a hard role for him to play.
I feel that he always acts like a rich douchebag in films, though admittedly acting like a rich douchebag who is trying to act like a [insert character description here].

But a decent performance from Benny-boy, you say? Hard to imagine. I may have to see this. Thanks for the recommendation.

Wait, he made THOSE movies...

I LOVED those movies!
Hell yeah, he has talked about making a third one. I think Will Smith and Martin Lawrence make a great duo.
