I hate you for your lack of capitalisation. And punctuation. AND misuse of the term 'hacker.'
I don't honestly know how to respond to that with out getting banned.

Then my work here is done. And perhaps I've intrigued you, even slightly, about the real meaning of the term 'hacker?' Maybe just a tiny bit? C'mon, defeating ignorance isn't a crime!

because they fight against the big evil corporations and government.
They do EVERYTHING to get their point across (DDOS attacks, piracy, real hacking etc.) due to this people like the guys from Fox think they are dangerous.

The concept of anonymous as a group is ridiculous.
They aren't one group, they aren't one kind of people, it's different people, with different ideals, doing either good or bad things, But all under the one name.
I think it's innacurate for them to say "We are anonymous" Aside from the fact that they are anonymous, unknown, but rather that should say "we are for anonymous"
When anonymous come out and say "that wasn't us" IT COULD BE ANYONE! there must be hundreds of different groups of people, all claiming to be working under anonymous, but working with seperate and even opposite intentions.

Oh well i am going to be pissed at these hackers until psn is back up. I hate anonymous for being idiots who don't think before they act.

There wasn't an option for "They're a bunch of dickheads with delusions of grandeur" so I went for neutral.

Its not the case of if i play singleplayer or not its that some dick could be running around with the credit card number as we speak.

And PSN being revived magically reduces that likelihood? I'm going to indulge my inner narcissist here and point you to another post of mine:

You know, recently some people (claimed to be US and Israel) have been trying to hack into Iran's nuclear plants etc.
Technology is just too risky blad!
Nothing "trying" about it friend - whoever set Stuxnet loose on Iran got exactly what they wanted. From my perspective as an automation engineer, I'm just damn glad Siemens have been able to identify signs of infection - last thing I need is to put a system in place, have it running fine for a year or two and then all hell break loose and people dying as a result, and when questioned "Uh.... it wasn't programmed to do that" typically doesn't cut it as a response.

Anon didn't come forward and say "Yeah, our collective cock is bigger than Sony's" meaning it's likely someone outside your shores. That points to organised crime. That points to already having buyers lined up. That points to know how to avoid the enforcement agencies.

And let's assume for a moment that credit card details weren't stolen: Personal info was. Y'know, all the info that's need to facilitate identity theft (and decent documentation to go with it, documentation that passes more than a cursory glance)

So yeah, watch your account balances closely - watch your credit rating even more closely, because that's what's going to be damaged by someone half a world away using your name to transfer, acquire or launder funds.
Sony's security may have been looser than a 15 year old on an all-night bender, but at least they were savvy enough to keep credit card details encrypted. It's your personal info that can be used to ruin your credit. Also, organised crime. Anonymous is anything but organised.

ok 1st off when it comes to Fox news they are alway extremely one sided ( this is not just my own opinion) 2nd off anonymous it not just one group of people i believe that they are a one big group but they mostly just split in to a bunch of smaller groups that all go by the same name. so each of them has they're own thoughts of what they deem is right and wrong (just like all of us do) 3rd anonymous has arguably done just as much good as bad they have tracked down pedophiles, stop school bombings, and help stop criminals. they are just never really given credit because they are still thought of as a villain. so if i was to describe them i would have to say they'd be a mix between spiderman, dead pool and the punisher. but this is only my opinion. and i have been attacked by them and i forgive them.

I just think Anonymous, and their activities, are incredibly entertaining. I'm certainly not mature or worldly enough to consider the dangers of a group of loosely-tied hackers with agendas of varying severity.

They are completely neutral unless something gets under their skin. THEN they unite, and become what the public thinks of as Anonymous. Their like the justice leauge of the internet.

They're neither good nor evil.
They're also not an organisation.

Two fundamental things you should know before discussing 'em because those are two very big misconceptions I see.

Depends, are you talking about anonymous the random millions of posters on 4chan or Anonymous the group that has a facebook page?

The first yes because there are alot of weird people and they will do some pretty fucked up things. If you mean Anonymous with a facebook page then no. They are a bunch of idiots trying to recreate something that never really existed and should stop trying or else they all be screwed over because 7 proxies actually doesn't work against the F.B.I.

I don't think of them as EVIL! but I don't think of them as anything useful either. It's just a group of circle-jerks and script kiddies that don't know when to do something and when something is going to far. Above all else I find them highly disrespectful and arrogant. If they want to go and prove me wrong on that then all the power to them.

Ugh...
Anonymous are not an organisation and they're not hackers or crackers. They couldn't have done the PSN job even if they'd wanted to! They're just kids who've downloaded LOIC and want to cause a little revolution, like kids do.
