One of the greatest mystery or rather a lack of sync with the rest of the population I encountered in my lifetime is that everyone enjoys Bohemian Rhapsody. I fail to grasp it's greatness in lyrics or musical value. It always seemed to me as a madman's random thoughts, which is ok, considering there are a lot of freaky bands and freakier tunes out there, but while some enjoy a cult following, none have hit it as mainstream as Bohemian Rhapsody did.

The only thing I can compare it to every time I hear it, is Stairway to Heaven(made about the same time and in the same style), which ironically I think it's good and 'better' at conveying it's message not by outlandish tunes, but a more melodical and genuine sound.

None of the above?

It's just unique to a never ending line of music that... well is no fun. It's just different, and in a good way.

I think there's something to that, zombiepandaman. We're allowed to like it as men and yet it's not only a manly song, it's emotional, it tells of murder and the repercussions and yet it utterly rocks out in a way very few songs ever have or will. It's simply a master piece and people recognise that.

Because it's like "Stairway to Heaven" sans being overly pretentious.
Yikes... Ok maybe I should put another example, but lets not pretend Queen was some kind of non-conformist band, who always rode against the tide.
One could easily say that is pretentious to stat how great 'BR' is.

It's a good song, and it's really caught on. Very good song.
Anyways, pardon me, but Wtf is up with the poll choices?

It was unlike anything else out at the time of release... and that's still true today. It really does stand alone through its pure, unfiltered randomness. The lyrics were meant to be ambiguous, which is why Freddy Mercury never told anyone what they meant; he took that mystery to the grave.
Part of the attraction could be this air of mystery... the meaning is one of music's greatest enigmas...

I would have to say, despite the obvious extremes in the "story" in the lyrics play out (Mama, just killed a man...), the song's overall tone hits feelings that nearly everyone (at least out of the people I know) have felt at some point or another in their lives. The musical progression also works extremely well. It's just a sort of emotional journey that people enjoy listening to again and again.

On the other hand, I'm not that big a fan of Stairway. Maybe I need to listen to it again.

Why does everybody enjoy slipknot?

The song just hits your heart strings. Then the gallileo gallileo is so different from the piano bit it confuses you. Your just like "whats going on." Then the solo hits you in the balls and mezmerises you until the amazing closure of that slow piano bit at the end. Its just... i dont know. Its just badass.

To me, it's just a fun song I've grown up with. ^.^ It is catchy as hell, plus the solo is awesome. Great for singing along to (badly).

Because it's so wonderfully cheesy.
It's awesome in the same way the first Resi Evil and God Gave Rock And Roll To you are awesome.
