Because it shows Queen's genius. That whole album (A Night at the Opera) is amazing. It's unlike anything you've ever really heard; a perfect blending of Progressive Rock and Pop music. Though I'll admit it has been somewhat overplayed.

Also, the girls in that comic strip have huge racks. Obscured the text. I never met a girl in a physics class like that.
Slightly off-topic; I take it that this means you don't read Questionable Content [http://questionablecontent.net/]? You should, it's one of the better online comics.

It is more fun to sing a long to than any song from The Lion King.
EVERYBODY I know, knows at least 90% of the lyrics, nothing better than a 4 part harmony.

It's not one aspect of it that makes it an especially well-written song, it's a combination of everything that makes a confusingly great song.

You should really have the option "Its a decent song" because that's how I feel about it. Is it the theme of the divine? No Is it the equivalent of rat droppings on a cd? No. I find it is an enjoyable song that I will occasionally pick up and listen to.

It kicks the shit out of most modern songs, it's fun to sing with other people... It's a classic song sung by a great band, what more is there to say?

Nothing really matters~

Anyone can see~

Nothing really matters...

Nothing really matters~

To meeeeee~

(I voted for the second option :p)

C'mon, it is a good song, as a matter of fact "A Night at the Opera" IS Queens masterpiece; it's a great album (and this comming from someone who really dislikes that band).

It is a complete mess of random sounds, but in a good way. I just find it something a bit different to most music of similar genre and is still very enjoyable to listen to, I think.

Because that song is the best song to air-guitar to in the shower.

Oh yes, I air guitar in my shower. I'm just that awesome.

It's a great song, and the very definition of "rock opera". Queen in general rocks my face right off. As for why it's great, several reasons:
-Easy to follow along melody, lots of repetition/call and response
-Lyrics clear and easy to remember (even if they are open to interpretation and imagination)
-Different tones and interesting transitions (starts off lonely and sad ballad, turns to rock out raging "mama mia, let me go!", turns to victorious resolution)
-Yes, it was in Wayne's World :p
-Queen is idolized in rock history, and rightfully so
-The "operatic" section is a pleasant surprise for the listener, especially at the time
-Freddy Mercury has such a fantastic voice; his range, clarity, and feeling has no rival
Yeah, that's what I got. I loves me the Queen. ^_^

Why does everybody enjoy slipknot?

The song just hits your heart strings. Then the gallileo gallileo is so different from the piano bit it confuses you. Your just like "whats going on." Then the solo hits you in the balls and mezmerises you until the amazing closure of that slow piano bit at the end. Its just... i dont know. Its just badass.
Agreed, but to answer your question: How can you not love a band who uses a keg and a baseball bat as a percussion instrument?

The option "I like the song but it lost its meaning once I realized everyone else liked it for the mediocre guitar solo" isn't there, neither is "Hey, it's a pretty solid song, very progressive, and much different than pretty much anything else out there."

So although I won't vote, it's a very nice song.

Anyway, yeah, people -have- been listening to it for 20 years..my parents know it more than me.

I honestly really don't like the song at all, not one single part, overhyped to the extent that is religion + halo.
