Sex is the devil's work xD One guy sure has a lot of humor (he IS kidding, right o.0)

I voted for the first option. Sex is not something forbidden, or at least shouldn't be. It is as natural as eating, sleeping taking a piss or a dump (although many people tend to combine sex with the latter two 8S).

I believe that sex is a completely natural act, one which people can joke about, and talk serious about. I always joke about it, and talk serious whenever the needs arises, and my friends have no problem with that. If they do have a problem with that, they either have social issues or over-protective parents (I'm 15). Just like I said, sex is a natural act, most probably one of -the- most important.. Why would you try to stop people from talking about an act which is required for one to live?

Sex is entirely rational, between married couples.
So you are for Wife swapping parties? What if some fat ugly woman wants me when I have a woman with a perfect body? That sounds DISGUSTING and not cool in my book.

I believe that Sex is perfectly fine between consenting individuals who understand that sex is meant to make a relationship BETTER, not just make a relationship. (I have nothing against casual Sex, it just isn't my cup of tea.)

Also, I am GLAD I have made love to my girlfriend before marriage, as it is the only way I know my love for her is unconditional, and that I am not rushing into marriage simply to get sex, as I have seen some people do...

Personally, I do not see what the big stigma is surrounding Anal sex. My girlfriend and I BOTH enjoy it with each other frequently.

Have any of you who disdain it ever actually TRIED it, or do you just assume it is gross?

(If you two take PROPER care of yourselves, there is nothing unsanitary about it at all.)
Well SOMEONE's a bit shallow.
Naw I'm just joking, I can totally see where you're coming from.
Also, a gamer, who can has sex?! You should be heralded as some kind of messiah!

All depends on the cultural context really.

All cultures (generally speaking) have a deep obsession with two universal wants:
sex and food. All cultures have their taboos and acceptable practices. Of course, it all
depends on the context and the situation. If you are amongst mature westernized adults (a rare breed, to be sure) then it is most likely not going to be a problem to discuss coitus, fellatio, or cunnilingus (the more basic sexual acts that are cross-culturally acceptable, in most cases).

However, the same conversation may have a negative effect amongst mature adults from the Kuna tribe in Panama (one of several indigenous populations). The Kuna are VERY open about their sexuality, and frequently engage in sex with multiple simultaneous partners (only the men are permitted to do this), anal sex (usually while the female partner is pregnant), coitus and so on. However, even discussing cunnilingus or fellatio will anger or upset many of them as they view both acts as being perverse. By the same token, much of what they do deem acceptable would be seen as strange by other cultures.

Second. Mobius, on the whole "anal" thing. Too much fucking information, bro. I'm all for expressing your love however you want, but... really, man, I didn't want to know that.
Very much agreed.

That's one of those things you might want to keep to yourself.

Syphilis. Sex is a taboo in the western world because of the syphilis epidemic in 16th century.

Hey, it's as good a reason as most that have been suggested so far in this thread :)

Sex is only a stigma in OUR country (USA) because many settlers of the country were Puritans. The puritan ideals around sex have really followed through over the years.

Sex isn't treated the same way in many countries. Japan, France, England for example are far more open about sex both in the media/entertainment and in their lives.

Sex is really over-blown as far as how we view it here, to a stupid degree honestly.

Should children have sex? No, you shouldn't have sex until you reach legal adulthood
Should you have sex just because you are now an adult? No, have it when you feel you are ready
Should you have sex before you marry? Yeah, you really really should (IMO). Like anything in life, experience improves performance.
This man speaks the truth. Here in Britain they can get pretty graphic when talking about sex and stuff on the TV.

Your country is just obsessed with purity.

Society just is uncomfortable. I think it may be left over from the highly conservative 50's era and the fact that we know nothing about it (scientifically speaking).
If I might also add... It is more than just the highly conservative 50's era. It was basically the whole Dark Ages and onwards in Western Society and that kinda translated around the globe using the Media.

I would also put it into the book that some people view it as the most primal way we can represent love. People see it as such a taboo because it is so "primal" (As we try to distance ourselves from our animal neighbours)

Edit: Oh, and to make it different from violence: Love can be seen as something that is pure, white as snow. For it to be talked about openly and verbosely would ruin said purity.

And I think it's an issue because:
1) Kids that should not have it shouldn't get the idea of it, because people are afraid they may act on participating on it.
2) Because porn has made sex an entertainment and "stress-reliever", people don't want that sort of smut to be shown publicly. It might cause public masturbation or something of the sort, and frankly, some people don't want to stare at a d*** during a perfectly good (or horribly bad) movie.
(Found you again. Maybe I am unintentionally stalking you. o_O)
Well, if the human body is READY for it, sex is a-okay. Because you know what sex is for? To create more humans. It's not a pleasure thing, not an entertainment thing, not a love thing, it's a...Erm. I'm tired, I forget the word I'm looking for. But it's just to make more humans to keep humans alive, basically.

So what I'm saying is that your first point may be true from a moral standpoint, but from a physical and more natural standpoint, it is not true. It also covers your second point, rereading this post...

Yeah, you guys know, though. Sex is really taboo these days because NOTHING is about what's natural any more, it's about what's good for your wallet, and what keeps you from being less successful, and what "Keeps our children from being corrupted!"

I believe that if you introduce your children to sex early on, and don't make such a big deal out of trying to hide the true nature of reproduction from them, they won't be so curious about it. STORKS ARE MAKING OUR CHILDREN INTO PERVERTS.

I think if both parties are over 16 ... maybe 18 I haven't decided, and they are consenting while sober, it's all good.

On a slightly related topic, think about this:

If, since the dawn of time; people started covering up their elbows ... would elbows become sexy? When you think about it, men like boobs because they are always covered and taboo; and we want what we aren't supposed to have (It's human nature).

Go forth into the villages, spread the word of my coming, and get you some tail of your own while you are at it! Also, Play games with girls so that they might join us on our pilgrimage to spread Teh W0rd!

(Sorry, I HAD to call it "Teh W0rd" to make it seem more Gamer and less Biblical...)

Okay, did I kill yet ANOTHER thread?

Edit: I guess not, everyone is just going to skip my question...
Haha theres a girl at my school who I'm trying to brainwash into becoming a gamer. Shes attractive, we both own a ps3 and she is a hilarious fan..girl? She can't stand xbox 360s.
I quit WoW but I'm considering picking it up if she'll play. Her answer to everything is "I'll play it if its on a Mac". Rofl.

sex is normal and nice (you are lying if you say ewww + if you don't mastrubate/make love as a man you will have a surprise in your pants when you wake up XD)

but sex in the media is pretty normal here (dutch movies feature lots of breasts etc.) even the public national tv has send out the film deep throat a few years ago because it was a classic :p

still waiting for the british paper model though: Economy in Crisis see page 3, SEXXX see page 2! :D

edit: children should be taught about sex but not watch pr0n on tv/internet from the age of 10 because that IS bad

Gah, Morning Glory can go rot in hell.
In New Zealand there was an instance on Prime-time TV where the Rugby was going on and there were hundreds upon thousands of viewers, and in the middle of it, for an entire 6 minutes it accidentally switched to a hardcore pornography channel in the middle of the game. It was a terrific spectacle, it was!

Sex is perfectly rational between anyone who has reached the age of consent.
Why?
If you keep you virginity until you get married sex will be a pain in the ass
