I've never played a Persona game. There I've said it; but the series really has piqued my interest over the last month or so. For some reason the sereies is available on the PSP (mine is broken and the machine itself is basically antiquated) and the PS Vita (too expensive and no incentive to buy outside of playing a few games...) but not on the PS3. Why the hell not? Surely they would sell more if the series was more readily available. I'm sure that many people including myself would shell out cashola if the series were available on the PSN Store. I can't imagine it would be too difficult for Sony/Atlus to release the damn games for PS3.

I guess I'll just have to wait until Persona V is released at the end of next year. May as well never come out!

I thought 3 was. The second part of 2 is. Yeah, it sucks that you need a PSP to really play the series (It has the first one, 2 part 1, and the best version of 3). I'd buy 4 in a heartbeat for 15$.

AMEN BROTHA! PREACH IT!!!!

I've heard incredible things about all the Persona games. I believe Persona 3 is the only one on PS3 (well and Persona Arena) with the PSN but I would happily give away money in order to play Persona 4.

Although I suppose since I still haven't gotten Persona 3, maybe I shouldn't be too demanding of Atlus :D

Is it? I'll have to check. But I'm pessimistic given that I live in Austrlia and it mightn't be available here. Which is antother thing that bothers me the different products available in different countries for the PSN Store.

Having played both Persona 3 and 4, I can safely say that they're incredible (as soon as Wykydtron shows up in this thread, I'm sure he'll agree). In fact, they're two of my favorite games of all time. Unfortunately, Persona 3 is the only one available on PSN (In the U.S., at least; I don't know about Australia). It might be worth your money to invest in a used PS2. I got one from a hobby shop for $45, and there are many great games besides Persona 3 & 4 on that system.

Being the resourcful convict scounderal I am, I decided to create a US PSN account. Needless to say there are many goodies on there that are not available in Australia. Hopefully things will go smoothly and I'll be able to play Persona 3, Crono Cross and many other lovely titles.

Glad to hear you'll be able to get your hands on it. It's a shame that Persona 4 still isn't on PSN, but hopefully they'll put it up eventually. I'm guessing the main reason they haven't already is because they don't want to undercut the sales of the PS Vita version. Even if it does take a while, Persona 3 should be able to keep you busy for quite a while; it took me 70 glorious hours to beat it.

Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention about these games (Persona 3 in particular) is that they both have great soundtracks. So, you know, added bonus and whatnot.

There's persona 4 arena and the upcoming persona 5 that both are on ps3. The portable versions were basically ports and you can port a ps2 game to psp or vita but if you tried to port em to ps3 people would whine about the graphics and whatnot so they chose not to do that.

I am of the strongest opinion that the cost of a PS Vita is worth it to play Persona 4 Golden. It is my all time favorite game and I will never shut up about just how good it is. Persona 3 is fantastic as well.

That said I would buy it in a heartbeat if it was on PS3. I'm eagerly anticipating the Arena sequel and P5 on PS3 as well as Persona Q on 3DS. I'll probably end up getting the Vita dance game too >.>

Aren't 3 & 4 available on the PSN store? Regardless, Persona 5 is meant to be a PS3 exclusive.

I'd also ask why they haven't released any of them on the Xbox or WiiU? The games aren't so graphically intensive that only the Sony consoles could handle them, plus Arena was on the 360. If this is some kind of exclusive deal Atlus has with Sony, it's kind of a dumb one.

I second this. The original PS2 version of Persona 4 is amazing already, but Golden adds so much stuff that it's like a completely new game.
I have a bunch of other games on my Vita too, but if Golden were the only game ever released for it, I would still say it was a worthy investment for me.

Yes, i would but i'm ok with no persona on PS3 until Persona 5. i honestly want them to throw every resource/man in to P5 and not deal with endless enhanced ports. Said that i really loved P4G on Vita, but i guess they got a ton of money from sony to help Vita to sell with P4, so that's ok.

I'm not sure I entirely understand the question. Persona 3: FES edition is available on PSN.

Yes, however, I would pay for the persona series on the PS3. Heck, I'll probably be as restless as a child on christmas morning when Persona 5 comes out. XD

... I have persona 3 downloaded on my ps3 right now. It cost $10. I'm about to beat it. When I finish I'm going to buy persona 4 golden, which is also on the psn store. Maybe it's not available in your country for some reason. If you have an old ps2 then you may be able to get the old copies, but I would recommend searching psn again.

Mate, I'm willing to bet that Dan will be here any second to sing it's fucking praises. AGAIN.

Not that I don't like the series. I love it and yes, it should be on the PS3, but I've never met a bigger Persona fanboy in my bloody life...

Persona 3 FES is an improved version of persona 3 just like metal gear solid 2 substance is an improved version of metal gear solid 2.
There's no reason to go back to persona 3 unless you like less features and balance issues.

Because, in return for dicking over the European fans for so long, Sega have told Atlus to make a Persona HD collection and bundling it in with Persona 5 in Europe, when it still arrives a year later than everywhere else...

If only. D:

But yeah, I'd pay decent money to be able to play all the Persona games on the PS3

P3FES is supposed to be a direct sequel to P3 where you play as the robot chick and MC of P3 is dead.
