guys, it's Persona 3 FES that is available to play on the PS3 not Persona 3, which is available on the PSP/Vita Persona 5 will be available on the PS3 when it is released.

Persona 3 FES is an improved version of persona 3 just like metal gear solid 2 substance is an improved version of metal gear solid 2.
There's no reason to go back to persona 3 unless you like less features and balance issues.

Where are you getting your information from? Persona 3 FES is an enhanced edition of Persona 3 that balanced the game and added new content but has all of the content from Persona 3. It did add a an extra section to the game right after the story (which is what you are talking about) but that is a very small part of what Persona 3FES is.

Also, you might want to avoid posting major spoilers from games.

I have persona 3 FES on my ps2 and it includes the original game with some tweaks and additions.
What you're mentioning is there but only a small bonus unless they majorly changed the psn version for the ps3.

As for Persona games to play on the PS3, well there's Persona 4 Arena. And if the PS3 had backwards compatibility anymore you could just buy Persona 3/4 and play those.

I am of the strongest opinion that the cost of a PS Vita is worth it to play Persona 4 Golden. It is my all time favorite game and I will never shut up about just how good it is. Persona 3 is fantastic as well.

That said I would buy it in a heartbeat if it was on PS3. I'm eagerly anticipating the Arena sequel and P5 on PS3 as well as Persona Q on 3DS. I'll probably end up getting the Vita dance game too >.>

I agree. It's why I bought my Vita. And since my Vita came with PS+, I've been flooded with plenty of free games to play as well. I will never stop shilling PS+. It's really a great service.

In the US at least, via PSN, you can get Persona 3: FES for 10 dollars, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment as well(not sure of the exact cost, I think it was on sale when I got it). But yeah, in the US, you can't get Persona 1, 2: Innocent Sin, or any version of 4 for your PS3 via PSN.

I would assume like some others have said, that Persona 4 isn't on the PS3 in any way shape or form because they don't want to undercut the vita's sales, especially considering that it still hasn't really taken off, and putting it on the PS3 would probably kill a lot of people's motivation to get a Vita altogether.

I don't know why Persona 1 hasn't been made available for download on PS3 yet, but my guess would be due to lack of popularity. It's definitely a pretty dated game, and I'm pretty sure that porting games isn't just some fast and easy free process, and so I would guess that they wouldn't stand to make enough from putting the work and money into porting it in order to justify porting it again to the PS3. That's just my guess though.

Downloaded Persona 3 FES a few weeks ago. I love it. I wanted to download 4, but it's only on PSP?And then I learned about Persona 5? Oh man, why is this game released at the very end of the 7th generation is a question I'll never be able to answer.

Persona 3 FES is available for download on the PS3 under PS2 classics for $20 USD. Also Persona 5, which has been announced to be released next year in Japan (who knows when we'll see it in the west) is slated to come out on the PS3.

I've heard incredible things about all the Persona games. I believe Persona 3 is the only one on PS3 (well and Persona Arena) with the PSN but I would happily give away money in order to play Persona 4.

Although I suppose since I still haven't gotten Persona 3, maybe I shouldn't be too demanding of Atlus

If you have a backwards compatible PS3, yes. If not, no. Sony removed backwards compatibility quite early in the console's life, however, so you won't have one unless you deliberately look for it.

I think people seem to not understand that NONE of the Persona games are avaiable on the PAL PSN Store.

And I couldn't manage to download the damn games through the NTSC store either...

I'd pay cold hard cash if they would port it to a PC. Or on the flipside, release Persona 5 on PS2 which will probably not happen due to it's graphical limitations. (I'd rather not say why I would want this).

I managed to finish both Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 in the last month and they skyrocketed into my top 2 favorite JRPG's of all time.

Now if only I could either save up money to buy a very cheap PS3 when P5 launches, but I think my inner self would rather just upgrade my computer instead. Oh well...

You could pick up a second hand PS2 and buy the games from Amazon or something like that, though the games may end up costing you more than the console. Alternatively you could skip buying the console and emulate it, though that is of debatable legality if you don't already own a PS2. Either way I definitely recommend playing them. Pick up the rest of the SMT games while you're at it; they're great.

From what I've seen, PC is your platform of choice so it makes sense you'd want to upgrade over saving for a PS3 slim.

Living in Australia, I have downloaded Persona 3 Portable from the PSN onto my PSVita. I have P4 The Golden. If I wanted, I could also get P2: Innocent Sin from the PSN. Currently, the Vita is the best way to play persona games, and boy is it worth it.

Just please Altus, release Persona 4 on the PS3 !! I really want to play that game, PS2 copies of Persona 4 are incredibly rare in New Zealand, its the only way ill be able to play it without spending a shit ton of money

Persona 3 is PS2

Persona 4 is PS2 and PSN
Persona 4 Golden is PSV

Now, if only we got an HD collection of Persona 1 thru 4...

OT: Besides FES and 4, there's Arena available on PS3 and Perosna 5 coming soon to Japan later next year on PS3... In the meantime, if there's an Persona HD collection, I will be all on that like how I was with Chihiro... *blushes*
