Now I think that the Move has a genuine advantage in a game like portal over a joystick, the bane of games like portals on consoles is the lack of precise rapid movements, a good gamer with a mouse can spin around 180 and shoot an accurate portal mid air in a second, trying that on a console would be next to suicide, however, the move might be able to help there, giving an ability to rapidly turn around as well as precisely aim. Hell I think it could almost be more fun to use the Move than a mouse as you could almost pretend that your flying around yourself.

I played Portal through without any problems on a controller. Either I'm an exceptionally awesome person of amazing godlike powers or its really not as hard to aim with a controller as PC fans would make us believe.

And no, I don't believe you can "fix" a working system with motion controls, which so far have proven to be a not so working system. I might be proven wrong though.

I completed Portal on console first, then PC. It's perfectly possibly to do it with a controller, but some of the challenge maps are a lot harder without a mouse.

those 3 words in that order have never been used to describe motion control, rapid movements yes, but have they ever been precise? No. Motion controls are a long way of for the precision needed for this kind of thing.

Actually I don't think the Move is a good fit for Portal. Mainly since you would just be using the motion control to look around, and somewhat minor environment interaction. I think it would be a bit boring and I don't see any advantages to it.

Having played various FPS on the Wii, it can be quite frustrating to move your hand a bit by accident and all of a sudden be staring at the floor or spinning in a circle. Not really an issue for me either way I guess, since I am buying it on the PC.

Sure it's easier, but I wouldn't say it is "next to suicide". I'm just saying, it just isn't that hard to use a controller as pc gamers would make you believe.

Yeah, the whole motion controlling thing isn't built for accuracy. If I try to select something on the Wii it looks like I have Parkinson's.

I beat Portal on my Xbox 360, before completing it on the PC. Obviously the PC was easier, but I didn't think the speed and accuracy of a controller hampered my ability to beat the game.

Honestly, I don't see how this would necessarily improve any aspect of Portal 2. The input would be too laggy.

I found my experience of Portal equally satisfying on both 360 and Steam, I really don't see how or why Move would make it more fun.

If you turn 180 degrees around, you'll be facing the sofa.

I have played Portal on a PC with a mouse and a Console with a controller and... PC is better. Controller is fine, but not as good. So, I would be my left nut that the move would hurt the game and make it worse. Portal 2 could be the greatest game ever, move could ruin it on PS3.

Waste of development time. And yes, im a PC Gamer so i don't care about your motion control shenanigans. At current point it's not even sure how well will all those fancy gadgets assimilate with he current gaming crowd, why risk another delay just to try it out?

in the first portal game (and guessing from the trailer footage), some of those shots have to be precise and take almost a split second to get it there, i do not think motion controls of any kind are able to do such things

No no no no no. Playstation Move, XBox Kinect, and the Wii are all short lived gimmicks. They aren't going to stick around because they aren't going to work well, and even if they do, it's a step backwards in the immersion ladder as compared to the traditional, good old controller that's been perfected for the last 10 years. It's a waste of time, and if I so much as smell any whiff of motion controls around Portal 2, my faith in humanity will drop another precious notch.
