The only COOP game I've played that gave me any joy was Neverwinter Nights (the first one).

You could log into a random MOD someone made, and others would join, and we were completely clueless of what was going on, so we were forced to solve the problem ourselfs. Some of these mods were really well made and well written. Have yet to see anything like this ever since NWN was released. Those were the good old day :/

In GRAW 2 I always play with strangers, simply because I have very few friends that play the game. In Halo, I always play with friends.

I play co-op with friends when I can, but in the end I'm indifferent.

I like playing Co-op providing that they are kinda team players. it defeats the purpose if they just steam off ahead and play it like they are playing it single player.

It's pretty much hit and miss online but when it does hit it's great. TDM is much more reliable in that regard.
It's more fun to fight back to back and panic when your being swamped in games like RE 5. Or crashing in Halo and scrambling back in before the next mortar hits. I'd take someone with a sense of fun over someone who is good at a game.

Please define "stranger": do you mean someone who you might have as a online "friend" and who you don't know personally, OR do you mean a completely random person who you've never heard of and will never contact again?

Because I played RE5 with one or my PSN friends who I don't know in person and can imagine doing that again, but I can't imagine ever wanting to play with someone completely random.
