Ok quit twice because of addiction

Quit final time shortly after WoTLK, binned my main for a DK, which was very good fun, however, one day in Dalaran I thought this is the "same shit different day" and at that moment i just logged off and uninstalled, not even telling my guild, 6 chars and over 5000 gold.

Now I've found EVE, althoguh its deeper, more engrossing and far superior intelligence wise, I find that it actually does not DEMAND my time like WOW did, im happy to pay for it and not play every free hour just to get my moneys worth. On top of that it is far more varied, challenging and detailed than WOW ever was.

Although WoTLK was fun, it was like bouncy castle fun when you where 5 years old, and as you got older you realised it was nothing more than something to jump around on. WOW for me is the same, at my age, if a game requires as much skill as a chimpanzee to kill enemies it doesnt really hold my attention for long.

My suggestion - quit WOW, go to EVE, show blizzard that their "world beater" isn't so great after all.

Bit of gettign bored and wrath coming out. Once wrath came out everyones gear technically reset so yeah... couldnt be bothered going and starting to get gear for my main again. I play a Tauren Shammy and although I liked the new talents wrath made for the class on the otherhand it still had the same problems.

The patching cycle takes far too long as well. Like I understand how good it is for them to thouroughly test each update.. they just take far too long. Like the cheat death nerf in BC took freaking ages to go through... I hate rogues for it.

The subscription fee. I thought the game was great and I really enjoyed it, but I felt like I just wasn't playing enough to get my money's worth every month. I might subcribe for another month or two and see if I like it more some time.

I didn't play it. I was busy watching some paint dry, and hammering nail through my skull.

I quit once I hit 70, realized that the end game "gameplay" wasn't in any way better than early level gameplay. In fact, twinking is overall more fun.

I am a hard core wow player but even still wotlk has ruined it for me . epix are so simple to get now its sad, and the game dose not take any skill or real guild help so most guilds are worthless now. I cant wait till starcraft comes out !! that will I hope finely kill wow for me. but till then I will see how many toons I can get to 80. btw I have over 250 days of played game time.

i got a bit bored of it and wasn't too happy paying nearly £10 a month for a game I've already payed £10 to own and not really knowing how much i would play thereafter...
suffice to say i stopped playing a few days before my month free ran out. I don't even think they give out a free full month anymore do they ?

A strange desire to reclaim your own life.

A concept that escapes half of the hard core WOW players that don't realize that there is a world outside of that series of wires and tubes that make-up the internet.

I got bored before half of the trial has ended.

Where is this option?
Same here, I liked it, but I am paranoid of subscription fees.
Nonono.

I didn't like it. It bore me faster than some F2P games. I don't think I would ever pay for it.

Ooh I quit a long time ago.
Stopped at I think level 52.

Just got bored of the game and playing it.
Made some friends, sure, but most of them moved on as well.

I played WoW since a month after launch, and it was so much fun back then. I must have quit at least 10-15 times over the years, but now they have turned it into a giant loot give away because people are too lazy and stupid to work for it. Everyone has the same gear and are all running around happy "Look at me, I have EPICS! Therefore, I am EPIC!". It used to be just the gamers that played it, but now with TV ads and the general population of idiots entering, they have ruined it just like everything else they touch. I could rant on more, but I don't really care anymore.

I've never played WOW but a buddy of mine had to quit as it was taking up 10 hours of his days... needless to say this did not go down well with the wife and child...

I have always avoided WOW due to having an addictive personality... it would probably be like discovering crack...

I think WOW is incredibly boring. I can't stand the way combat is handled.

i was lt. general dethstorm, i started playing as soon as the game was out, i hardly had any friends out side of the game (most people i knew played the game),server transfers and friends quitting caused things to get a bit lonely, i had almost quit until i ran into a guild leader who took a liking to me and invited me to his guild despite the bad first impression i made on a raid since i had been pvp spec at the time. in due time i had become his right hand man, helping people, making sure their addons were working, solving disputes so my guild leader could enjoy time outside of the game without worry (i was 18, he must have been in his 30s).

months after i joined another guild crashed, we took in some of their members. i handled any mages being class lead, i really only had to handle one... the ex class lead. i pulled up his information on the armory while talking to him, my usual procedure was to ask for their stats (even tho i could see them on armory) the point of this was to see if they were telling the truth (if they lie about their stats they might be prone to lieing about other things) but its not high numbers im looking for, its honesty. he couldn't say anything that wasn't a lie, when ever i asked him something about his character, he resulted in insulting me somehow and saying he was better than me. i denied his app (only time i ever denied someone in my time as class lead, he soon start contacting every person of power in my guild telling them to invite me and saying it was alright thankfully no one invited him... until the guild leader logged on the next day and believed him. i told the guild leader i wouldn't have any problem with him staying as long as i got an apology from him.

and what did i get?

the new members talked to some members that had been upset over some polices (DKP), they where the kind of people that wouldn't do the work but wanted the loot, and got them to rebel (leave guild and make a new one) some members that didnt even know what was going on left in the panic (we went from 75 members to 20).

the guild leader and few loyals decided to try our luck on a new server. they left and my only option was to join the rebel guild, but it was as i had expected, higher ups getting loot when they wanted even when lower ranking members had weaker gear. after a month i decided to get some money and transfer to join up with my old guild mates. dethstorm was taken so i made my new name, zerkave, i found my guild mates and joined a guild they found... but thats when it hit me... i was at square one again, raiding KARAZHAN when we were closing in at getting to raid black temple... and entire year's work, gone. my guild leader left the game because his wife (who also played) had become ill, others disappeared as well until it was just me and one other decided to quit, i left all of my gold with the last guild mate and promptly unsubscribed even though i still had a half a month of playtime left.

only a few of the friends i went into the game with i still contact, i went from paying 15$ a month to making over 500$ a month working min wage, all of that money will be going to college (dead beat dad wont pay, mother paid for my brother since he already knew what he was going to be in life) at least i think ill be getting some gov money.

still thinking about playing wow after reading that?

...and i still never got that apology from that mage.
