The fact your social life and academic life just seems to be put on hold due to WoW, it's really addictive.
So that's the reason i quit.
(Although, shamefully, i do sit, sometimes, just looking at the disks).

Loved it from lvl 1 to 60. Then I started raiding... It got boring, doing the same raid instances over and over, and grinding my ass off the rest of the time. Started over... same thing happened again. Started over... This time I found the best guild ever, IMO, and we had a blast going from 1 to 60, but then, even though I had so much fun with these people, and thought that this would make it very different this time around, the game just got repetitive and boring at lvl 60 (which was still the cap at the time). It took a long time, but eventually I decided that not even all those great friends I'd made could make it worth it. So I said good bye, quit for good, and haven't regretted it for a second.

The endgame was no longer that interesting to me. PvE endgame left no room for a player to be particularly innovative or think all that much: you placed your talent points like you were "supposed to", equipped all the same gear, and socketed/enchanted it all the same.

PvP Arena is fucking boring. Enjoy your fight in a box, stripped down to the bare bones and over-analyzed to death. Once theorycrafting becomes too prevalent, all the fun goes out of stuff... you find people with carbon copied teams, carbon copied gear, carbon copied strategy. The battlegrounds where all the fun is became nigh-worthless if you wanted rewards... you HAD to go into the arena for the good gear.

Maybe the latest expansion changed some of that, but I'm through rehab now and have more stuff to do with my time. All I stuck around for was my old guild, and I just linger on the forums and re-read the frontpage. Go .

I quit WOW pretty quick. It just seemed to get less and less immersive the more I played it. Not to mention all the numbers got on my nerves even though they don't bother me in other RPGs. Weird right?

I got a fourteen day free trial and when it was over I had to stop myself from getting the whole thing. That game was way to addictive.

The only reason I can see quitting World of Warcraft, for me, is lack of interesting content. I mean Ulduar's coming up within about two days (or next week, depending), there's always PvP content and there's still about three classes I haven't played yet.

I quit before WoTLK came out, at the point i quit all i was logging in for was to play 10 arena matches a week, other then that there was nothing in the game that was fun to do for me.

I was all excited about leaving fucking Outlands to go to Northrend, and then I realised, it's just the same thing for another 10 horrible levels. So I quit.

Wrath of the Lich King ruined it for me.
- Epics aren't epics annymore.
- Every idiot can faceroll the content ( with the exeption of sarth + 3 drakes )
- A good friend of me who i met trhough wow also quit because of WoTLK and without him it wasn't fun

This is my second time that I have quit playing WOW and hopefully its the last. I usually play til my character reaches the level cap but after that I lose all interest. I have what I like to call a two month attention span when it comes to WOW. After the initial month of grinding to the level cap, I use the second month to fight in battlegrounds and earn honor. I start to lose interest after about the 50th battleground (win or lose) and stop playing all together. I only came back to play as pally which was actually more fun than my warrior. After that I just lost all interest and cancelled my subscription.

Edit: Sorry for the double post.

I am kicking the WOW Monkey right now, going cold turkey and canceling my account. I still get the shakes at night, and the cravings.. Sometimes I wake up to realize I am in my computer chair at the login screen clicking wildly on Log In.

There is only one cure for World of Warcraft, and it is The Old Republic.

I had a lot if great friends that played, I had a lot of good items, and all my gold was self-earned. I just got tired of the gold sellers/buyers/cheaters and the rapid inflation at the auction houses. I also got bored with leveling...

Any game gets old after a while, so you shelf it, and pick it up again later. WoWs no different. People who play WoW for years and years need some serious variety in there life. It would be like reading nothing except Lord of the Rings over and over again for years: Sure, its a great book, but mix it up and try some different things.

Variety bores me. I only play a select few games at a time. It means I can focus more on being pro :p Point is, if I played a lot of games I would be crap at them all.
