Personally I like the look of it but the launch games don't interest me. So I'm going to wait until the PS4 and the new Xbox are announced (or an exclusive that looks amazing). I don't want to be in the same situation that I was in when I had a Wii
Waiting 5 or so years for a new Zelda game only to have Skyward Sword show up.

Eh. Why not. I like to be up on all the current gen gaming consoles, so I'm going to go ahead and grab one. As much as wii disappointed me, it still had better exclusives this generation than the xbox. I'll more than likely see some good shit coming to the wiiu in the coming months

No.

I am not impressed by the lineup or the stupid controller design. I do not want to have to constantly look at my hands to manage a second screen. If I wanted a DS, I would buy a DS. This is the first console from Nintendo I have had absolutely zero interest in buying, and quite frankly, it depresses me.

I'm fine with my 360 and my PC. The Wii is nothing more than a Brawl/Netflix machine at this point, anyway.

hmmm.....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

not one single reason I could possibly think of, hell I don't care about their core IP's and quite frankly Metroid seems like its been ruined...or relegated to handhelds

Compared to current gen consoles it is next gen tech. And all we've heard about the upcoming consoles they are going to be last days tech on releas in comparison to PCs so yeah...
but if you take PC out of the equation I would rather the console with the better hardware..because current gen graphics are starting to look dated to me

[quote/]OT: Going to get one sometimes after release. Unlike XBox or PS the Nintendo consoles have at least interesting exclusives and games to play.[/quote]
like....mario?.....or somthing.....

thats really not saying much...at least with an Xbox youve got the "standard" for the generation pretty much there (as in theres not alot your going to miss out on) I mean thats if your not rich enough to have more than one console (and even then I'd say the wii isn't worth it but then I don't want to start that debate)

Naww, there's no reason for me to drop money on a console that barely edges out the PS3 and will have 90% nintendo games that I don't give a damn about. The other 10% better be absolutely stellar to convince me somewhere down the line.
For now, my PS3, Vita and PC give me every game I could ever want with a DS on the side that is literally a dedicated Pokemon device.
And to be quite honest, those iFad controllers are a whole level above the 3D on the 3DS in terms of gimmicks to draw buyers that don't know any better.

I'll get it once I can save up enough with the holidays coming up. I've gotten sick of having to trade consoles with my brother over and over since we both moved out, so it'll be nice to have a system of my own.

And of course, I know I'll get enough of the first party titles like the inevitable 3D Mario game and Zelda game and Smash Bros along with exclusives like Rayman Legends and Bayonetta 2 to justify the purchase easily. Plus Nintendo's been doing a surprisingly good job with the eShop (in terms of content. the interface has miles of room for improvement...) on the 3DS, so I'm hoping maybe they'll have some good downloadable games.

Honestly, a touchscreen makes a lot more sense and has far more practical applications than motion controls. Plus for all those saying it'll alienate developers, Sony and Microsoft are trying the same thing with Vita crossplay and SmartGlass. Also doesn't help that Microsoft and Sony's business practices through this whole generation have made me skeptical about their next sets of hardware. At least Nintendo is showing signs that they're trying to fix what they did wrong this gen...

Current gen tech, and they're asking for £50 for Zombiu and others...

I'm not impressed or convinced. Show me something.
You know , they have people to pay right? They can't just give you games for free . I swear people are so damn cheap.

OT: within the year .once multiple jrpgs come out for it .

Yeah I will but I will wait for a while, not because there wouldn't be any games but I just don't have the time right now.
So I picked yes later, but waiting for games option but I am not actually wiating because I don't find it to have any games...

This. Exactly this. My PS3 has all the games I need, and with cross play coming to Vita in the form of PS All-Stars, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper, I have no reason to want another console. Also, the support from 3rd party publishers really dropped for the Wii after launch, leaving it with only first party games, and I'm not a big fan of many first party Nintendo franchises. It could convince me, but it hasn't yet, and needs to have some pretty incredible games announced to do so. Sorry, Nintendo.

This pretty much covers what I wanted to say. Their designs for almost every thing gaming wise is backwards now.

I'll try some of it before brushing it off as the worst... yeah, that's it.

I have zero interest in the Wii U. It doesn't even seem like it's better than the current gen consoles so it'll be obsolete in a few years... The only games I care about from Nintendo are the Zelda games. It sucks that I'll miss out on them but I'm not buying a console for one game.

There's no "maybe" option! Previously I would have merely dismissed it out of hand, but Bayonetta 2 has me keeping an eye on it. If they continue to put interesting exclusive titles on it, naturally I will get one eventually. Same situation with the 3DS - I laughed until I saw that Shin Megami Tensei 4 will be 3DS exclusive. Thanks to that I finally get to play some of the games I've kind of been interested in, but not enough to warrant investing in the device.

It looks like a minor upgrade (and a gimmick upgrade at that: oh, so now I can take my eyes off the screen to stare at a smaller screen and use it as a... keypad? Really?) and therefore I will stick with my PC for now. If I see some tech in it that legitimately appeals to me I might reconsider, but honestly, after 5 years who actually says "Oh yes, the tin speaker in the wiimote and the ability to mimic sword fighting by spasming my wrist really made my experience more enjoyable"?

You know what I want to see? Controls that work and graphics that won't kill your framerate to a headache-inducing 30 fps. Just the basics to make it smooth. But then again that doesn't get much market attention.

On launch: No.

When it meets my quota (12 games I want and can't play on a system I already own): Absolutely. It shouldn't be too hard for the Wii U to get to that number if they are able to bring in as good third party support as they say. I already love a bunch of Nintendo exclusives. Zelda is still my second favorite franchise of games and I jump at the chance to play a new 3D Mario. You don't get many 3D platformers these days from anyone. The last one I remember was Alice: Madness Returns, and it rather weak in that department. I known I want Bayonetta 2. I'm pretty optimistic about the Wii U. But I won't be getting it at launch. I don't get anything at launch, as it seems like a very stupid move.

Pretty much exactly this. Though currently, the only in-development game I care about on the Wii U is Bayonetta 2. And I have no interest in the Nintendo mainstays such as Mario. So I might end up not getting a Wii U for a couple of years yet.
