Poll: Wiiu friend exchange and general Nintendo/Splatoon/Smash Bros discussion

I've had a WiiU for a while but have never bothered to add friends on it. I wouldn't mind having some people to play Splatoon or smash with from time to time. Actually, I'd love if someone were to issue a smash challenge to me! Bring it on : D

what tactics and weapons do you use in splatoon?
who is your main in smash?

Personally, I like using short range shooters like the splooshomatic. I'll equip myself with ninja and some defense along with some ink saving perks; I tend to use a close range stealthy ambush tactic in a lot of games (it's where my username came from).

And my smash mains are Kirby and Yoshi.

I'm kind of disappointed by the lack of responses (is the WiiU that unpopular? : \), I was expecting at least 3 or 4.

Whatever the Splash-o-matic would be considered, I guess short range. It's my favorite gun by far. Nice fire rate, and damage, and the suction grenade special works wonders in Splat Zones. I attribute my A- rank to that thing.

Yea that one would be short range. I love using it for tower battles because it makes it impossible for them to actually hold the tower when there's a suction bomb on it every 5 seconds : p

I still need to get a copy of Splatoon, but I'm always up for a game of Smash! I main Link and Roy, Link's been my main since the first game and I loved Roy in Melee. Started playing a bit of Yoshi, I'm quite the fan to be honest.

I mostly use rollers in Splatoon due to sucking at shooters. I'm trying to get good with the Octobrush and both N Zaps since they got great with the Squidvader Cap and 8 bit fishfry. Strategy wise I try using walls to get above someone when they're getting a bit too close but that's rather hit or miss.

The closest thing I've got to a main in Smashbros is Duck Hunt but I'm still no good.

Not that it's particularly active right now, but there is a WiiU group here.

I'm A+ in Splatoon at the moment, but that will almost certainly undo itself next time I play. I'm a Splatterscope player on a laggy connection, so consistency is pretty unassurable (especially in the skatepark where I'd swear I've been like 10 seconds behind everyone else).

It would be pretty awesome if we could convince a bunch of Escapists to do something like that but it would have to be something original, any ideas?

Failing? You were top player when you were on the other teams if I recall correctly.

I typically use whatever is best suited for the map and battle type.

If it's a close-quarters map in an turf battle, I'll use rollers, short- to mid-range shooters, or a special weapon attachment that will allow me to take advantage of the map's topographical features. If the map includes a lot of vantage points, I would typically go in with long-range charger and take a more offense strategy.

As for ranked battles, I'm more reliant on my gear and stick to a modified Splattergun. Since I want to be able to react to any situation, the balance in fire power is always essential.
