Or at least their IP Addresses. They had apparantly decided that scientology editors were going around and flowering up the truth to make Scientology look better.

Discuss your opinions on the ban, on scientology, etc.

As for me, I think all religions are a silly attempt by hairless apes to understand the world around them and make themselves feel a little less insignificant.

Scientology is not a religion, Scientology is a buisness created by a science fiction writer. A buisness that ruthlessly silences anyone who disagrees with them. They are a cult and they only exsist because of the capitalist system. (AKA: Those with the money make the rules.)

Infact, they tried to get some writer either locked away in a mental asylum, or jailed for disagreeing with them.

I was honestly very sad for Vince Offer when I found out he used to be a Scientologist, and they ruined his life when he tried to leave. Now he stuck doing the ShamWow and SlapChop commercials...

Any organization that would punish a difference of opinion like that definitely isn't fit to edit an information website, in my eyes.

Scientology is a brilliant business strategy, and I bet L. Ron Hubbard was laughing all the way to the bank.
I've actually read one of his books, by the way. It was pretty good, but I think it was pre-scientology.

Have you, by chance, seen either of these videos?

Their pretty much a group from 4Chan who decided to wage war on Scientology after they removed a video of Tom Cruise talking about Scientology. They fight for freedom of information or some such. They protest wearing Guy Fawkes masks and all that.

Scientology is a joke, it was started by a science fiction writer for christ's sake, scientology is full of shit.

No actually I haven't seen them, I've heard plenty about them though. Obviously there's something I'm missing if you posted links to them. I'll bookmark them and watch them tomorrow when the sun is up. I've always admired gumption on that kind of level that they have.

I agree. At least our church over here doesn't come over and burn your house down in the name of God when you leave.

In fact, you can still get married in church, as long as your fiancé/fiancée is still paying the 1% church tax every year.

OT though: I went with the business option. I've steered clear of scientology so I must admit I don't know much about it, but the little I do, it all points to some very clever business strategy.

You're talking about "Anonymous"

Who cares wheter it is a cult or a bussiness? The point is that they make money off of people when they shouldn't. If people wanna believe in tethan, xenu, OT III, or whatever then good for them, but they shouldn't be charged for it, or forced to do useless shit lke signing billion year contracts(Sea Org, anyone?).

Or maybe religions are just cults where the prime beneficiaries just happen to be long dead?

Personally, I think (or want to believe) Scientology is a beautifully executed (and profitable) parody of religion. I mean, there's really nothing you can say about Scientology (except it's age and creator) that you can't say about other "legitimate" religions.

And, hey, it doesn't only exist because of the capitalist system. People are joining it. If it works in the capitalist system, it just means it's fulfilling (or, rather, exploiting) a "need" that people are willing to pay money for.
