I was reading another thread a little while ago and somebody who was talking about the Xbones DRM policies said 'Don't worry, it will be jailbroken faster than the iPhone'. This was something that got me thinking, would the Xbone get jailbroken? I mean, tons of devices have been before, but I can't think of one that has to have a full cavity search of its systems once every 24 hours. Not to mention playing games online on modded consoles is already risky enough without the MSA (Microsoft Security Agency) sniffing down our throats. Plus the console will probably be regularly updated and I'm sure that games made after said updates will require them to play.

But then again... the nerd can be a very determined creature. Even in the toughest of adversity, it can sometimes overcome the most damning of odds. Its happened before, but can it happen with the Xbone? What do you guys think?

Well...if they can figure out how to use it offline without needing to log in, then anything is possible.

But if companies are made to (or chose to) make their games only work on consoles that have an up to date OS at the time (which they probably will, I believe it works the same on the 360) they modders will probably have to come up with new versions extremely quickly to keep up.

Might be something of a good challenge for someone to try. But that would require a purchase(s) and that's the last thing this glorified cable box needs.

A better question is: when will the Xbone be jailbroken? It is going to be, one way or another. It's just a matter of time.

It's definitely going to get jailbroken. In fact, I predict it'll be jailbroken within a week of release. The issue is that it's probably going to be a pain in the ass, and therefore not worth buying a console to do it on. Better off buying a PS4, or a PC, or a Wii. Nothing on the xbone will be worth jailbreaking the damn thing in order to use it.

Probably. It works just like a PC. You install the game and authenticate it online. As long as the game doesn't require cloud processing someone will be able to crack it just like they'd crack a PC game. At least that's what I think.

I bet that if it did get hacked it would probably be a secret 'plan Z' by Microsoft to try and sell more units but not appear to be doing a u-turn. They know that people are pissed off because of the systems they've put in place so offering them a work-around by means of a hack, waiting for increased sales and then coming down hard on people using the hack sounds sufficiently desperate and evil. Shit, I'm giving them ideas.
