It's a good engine! Has good AI, supports a decent range of effects, good geometry and textures - it's aged beautifully, really. Played HL2:Ep2 the other day and didn't find them off-putting at all, much Kudos to Valve for make that engine :]cgmetallica1981 said:What I want? Half-Life 3, maybe even a new Counter-Strike. What it will be? Left4Dead 3.
Oh, and whats up with the morons who think theres gonna be Half-Life 2 Episode 3? I doubt anybody would continue a game with a 2004 engine.
Neither did they make Team Fortress, or... some other game they re-booted for a sequel that was originally a mod, just like TF and DoTA, can't remember its name though.tehweave said:DOTA3... Remind me why Valve is making DOTA2? They didn't make the first one as far as I know.
An updated Source engine. Last time I checked neither of the Episodes were made in an updated Source engine.SirBryghtside said:Portal 2 was made in Source. Your point?cgmetallica1981 said:What I want? Half-Life 3, maybe even a new Counter-Strike. What it will be? Left4Dead 3.

Bare in mind that L4D wasn't developed by Valve. It was developed by Turtle Rock studios who was purchased by Valve partway through development. L4D2 was developed by Valve and was relatively easy to develop as a result.Nerdstar said:I'm going to go with L4D3 since TF2 is still going strong and there making money hand over fist since they learned that people will pay real money for virtual hats and weapons, HL: is officially classified as vaporware in my humble opinion, and they just released portal 2 so i dont think there in a real hurry to release portal 3 (if there even planing to do so) but the L4D seis has many prospects and has been released relatively recent between l4d and l4d2 so as i said my money's on L4D3.
true, but that still dosnt take away from my argument, if anything it adds to it, they just need to tweek L4D2 a bit to make it L4D3LordRoyal said:Bare in mind that L4D wasn't developed by Valve.
