so, i played through the entire of DA:O and thought it was pretty meh. The uncanny valley, the repetitive combat and the months of dialoge just left me wanting to play something else. not to say dialoge is a bad thing, it's just there are limits. i heard they made DA2 alot better so i tried the demo. the problems still existed.

/boring_paragraph

so, will you be buying DA2?

personaly, not until steam offers it dirt cheap with all the DLC. why? because i'm a sucker for deals and very thick skulled.

Maybe don't play Bioware RPGs? They don't sound like your thing.

And I've already bought it, way before the signature edition deal ended, so I'm just waiting for that hot black box to arrive.

Not until they release the Ultimate Edition 1-2 years later.

I'm not a massive fan of Fantasy games, playing a few hours of Oblivion currently does me for my yearly dose, but I think that's mostly down to a very bad experiance with the origional Neverwinter Nights (I know it's a well loved game, but really I started it something like 5 times and never once liked it; it's just not for me, ok?) so I may give the Dragon Age titles a go someday. So yes I'll probably buy both 1 and 2 together in a Steam sale someday, but not on release.

Got the signature edition ordered and will hopefully have it on day one. I really liked Origins, plus I really love Bioware RPGs, so it really was a no-brainer for me.

I pre-ordered it. I loved DA:O and the dialogue was great...I mean some of those voice actors were amazing.

But the thing is, I like Bioware RPGS. They are, however, not for everyone.

If Bioware-style RPGs are not your thing...then...don't get the game. No harm, no foul.

I'm not going to get it. The demo failed to impress me and I just don't have the time I used to to play games.

Pre-ordered. Plus, I have nothing against DLC, so that's not a problem for me.

The Ridiculous drm is what turned me off from it. I'm treating them like ubisoft I only buy used games.

It's one of the least intrusive ones I've seen for a big title in a while.

About their DRM: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/6194280/1

Dragon Age 2 Physical & Digital PC/Mac DRM are as follows:
No disc check, you do not need the disc in drive to play.

No limit on the total number of PCs you can install the game on.

There is a limit to the number of unique/different PCs that can play the game within a time window (if online) [5 PCs in 24hrs].

After each new install there is a 1-time online check needed the next time you play, requiring a log in to your EA account to verify game ownership. If you are a member of these forums, you already have an EA account ? just use the same email/password.

You can play offline thereafter - the game will NOT require any subsequent login checks. If online, a game ownership check happens each time you play.

Steam versions use Steam DRM, no other DRM is added, which means:
No disc check, it is used for digital game versions purchased from Steam only.

No limit to the total number of PCs you can install the game on.

There is a limit to the number of unique/different PCs that can play the game at any one time (if online) [1 PC].

Each install requires logging into your Steam account to verify game ownership.

You can play offline thereafter. If online, a game ownership check happens each time you play.

Steam pre-loads use Steam release control ? you will not be able to play until the release day/time has passed for that region.

Dragon Age 2 Release Control (non-Steam versions)
Does not use securom.

It does not install anything to the PC.

Sole purpose is to check with a server to validate whether the game release date has passed or not.

It completely removes itself after the game release date has passed.

You will not be able to play until that date has passed.

Dates & times are set to the retail street date per country.

Common questions:

Does this apply to consoles?
No. This is applies to PC/Mac only.

What about Mac/Cider, does it use Securom?
Dragon Age: Origins for Mac/Cider used Securom. Dragon Age 2 for Mac/Cider will NOT use Securom and instead it will use the same non-Steam system listed above.

A PC review mentions Securom, what gives?
All EA preview & review game builds sent to press use Securom which is where the assumption came from. The Dragon Age 2 actual retail & download version of the game that you will play will not use Securom, it uses one of the systems above.

I didn't like DA:O at all (boring combat, uninventive missions, extremely obnoxious companions), and Skyrim looks so much better that it puts Dragon Age to shame really.

Yeah. Probably not day one, but close enough.

Why? Well ... it's Bioware. They haven't disappointed me yet.
