Poll: Will you buy the WiiU when the new Super Smash Brothers comes out?

I keep hearing from gaming news sites that SSB will be the console seller of the WiiU, and will be the one game to save the console from it's rut. I personally will not buy a Wii U for the next smash bros game (and this is coming from someone who got 100% in everything in Brawl). For me, the game doesn't seem to capture my interest with every new update. Sure, the new characters are cool and fun, but so far, it looks no different than brawl... except with (I may be wrong about this in the future) less modes and features. What do you guys and gals think? Will you buy a WiiU for when the next Smash releases?

Now that I've seen the recent Nintendo Direct, I want to get a Wii U. Not for SSB though. For the other games.

Of course right now it's all just a matter of money.

No it's not going to sell the Wii U to me, mostly because I can't really be bothered with Mario games and they don't interest me. What WILL be the Wii U seller for me will be Bayonetta 2 and when I'm done with the Xbox One early titles. At this rate the Wii U's looking like a mid to late 2014 sell for me.

I played the heck out of SSB, SSB:M, and SSB:B, putting in hundreds of hours playing with friends, family, and solo. The thought of a new SSB is mildly intriguing, but certainly not enough to buy a new console. There's have to be at least a half dozen games I really wanted to play to justify purchasing a WiiU.

I'm old and busy. As such I wouldn't be able to get my money's worth if I bought a console like the Wii U to play a 4 player fighting game, no matter how much I want it. I will always be proud of my 1000+ hours of Melee I have on my Gamecube memory card, but those days are over. Moreover, I'm just not interested in Nintendo's first party titles anymore and I don't expect them to change their tune anytime soon[footnote]inb4 Jeffies/Ninty defense force shouting Sin and Punishment 2 and Mad World at me[/footnote].

The 3DS on the other hand is cheaper and already has a few games I got my eye on that can't get elsewhere

No I am not interested in Smash Bros at all I had fun with melee but I wasnt interested in brawl and am not interested in this one theres just other games I would rather play to be honest.

I am waiting for a price drop on the WiiU really once it gets to under 200 pounds I will likely get one the only games that could make me buy one at the price its pitched at the moment is Bayonetta 2 and the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game (not real name). When it has both of these games out for it I will seriously consider buying the system. I only got the Wii for Galaxy (1), Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story luckily all three of those games were awesome and amongst the best of the entire generation of games on all systems.

No I've never really been interested in the Smash Bros series. I'm gonna buy a Wii U when Bayonetta 2 comes out.

Nah. Smash Bros. is great for an afternoon with friends every now and again, but that's about it. I get bored of fighting games pretty fast anyway. Wouldn't be worth it. Aside from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Wind Waker HD, Wii U looks incredibly lacking to me right now. I might get one when X is released.

It's one of many games I want for the system. The main thing I want is W101 though. X looks like it's probably gonna be fantastic, too. And SMT x Fire Emblem.

Hell no..... cause I already got a Wii U. But I will be getting SSB for Wii U and 3DS. I mostly got a Wii U for Pikmin 3, Skyward Sword, the fact that I can play Wii games on it! (Didnt own a Wii) and that I learned to love Nintendo again after getting a 3DS.

Why would I buy another system for a game I can play with my current systems?

No, for two reasons:

1) I've never been into Smash Bros. enough to buy a console for it in the past, and

2) It's coming to 3DS, which I already have.

limited money + not agreeing with lots of nintendo's decisions/ideas = me saving my money for things i prefer


as simple as that. anytime I play brawl it's at a friends, and i have access to that, i don't have much need for the wiiU SSB when they've already taken out any single play aspect i would've been interested in (the story mode/campaign)

I'm the same, Bayonetta 2 and other non another bloody Nintendo game +1 games are what will sell the system to me, there's been a few interesting ones so it's on my to buy list, but only after my PS4 arrives. Gotta get the better system first . On the bright side the XBone is far behind the Wii U when it comes to priorities, so it's only coming 2nd.
