Nope. The 360's dashboard is already drowning in ads, so I shudder to think how the 720's will turn out.

Nope, I'm happy with my PC thank you very much.

From what I've heard, PS4 won't back backwards compatibility as well so there's that. Also, Sony wants to cater more gamers where as Microsoft wants to make the Xbox an entertainement system for the living room which will most likely be their downfall.

Never. I hope microsoft burns for their console failure rate. I don't just hate them, I LOATHE them for making me buy a console twice and having 2 limited edition controller's die for no reason. I wised up and have fully transitioned away from microsoft forever.

If it's good, I'll buy it regardless of the always-on.

I've never had any love for Playstation consoles, and I've owned them all.

Probably not, I'm in no rush to get into a new console generation when there are hundreds of games left for me to play in this one.

Plus I prefer to watch the first year of a consoles life from the sidelines and enjoy the ensuing shitstorm with hardware and software issues.

Hell. No.

I bought an Xbox 360, and it has to be the worst gaming purchase I've ever made. It was poorly constructed, the support for it is awful, the mark-up on console games here is ridiculous and if I ever want to play online - with my internet connection and the game I bought - I have to pay a fucking subscription?

Never. Again.

It still has to prove to me it's a good console (see if this one dies and has average support). And once that's established, then it will require a game library to gain my interests, or one amazing game I just really want (which hasn't happened it a long time).

If I buy the XBox++ then it'll be the first console I've ever owned. I've still not seen a reason to buy one. Given that threads like this are appearing, saying "If the new XBox turns out to be adequate rather than terrible, will you buy it?", I don't think the prospects are particularly good. It's sounding like we've stopped hoping that the new XBox will be better than the 360, and started hoping that it won't be any worse than the 360.

I will buy one or the other, about 6 months after both are released. At that time I should be able to decided which one holds my sway.

It's interesting that people still complain about X-Box live costing around $40 US dollars here in the states. (Yes, just wait for a sale a buy a card). That's less than a game and you do get some free games and content with it. Would I like it to be free? Sure, but alas, it will never be.

As a card carrying member of the glorious PC master race, I won't be getting, nor giving the nextBox a glance. Our plans of slowly converting console users into PC peons is working grandly.

Probably not. There might come a game in the future that makes me want it, but judging from this generation the games that I have for the 360 are mostly games that I can get on PC or PS3 too. I think I will stick to PC and Wii U for the time being and maybe get a PS4 at some point depending on the games.

Really it's too soon for me to say, but the games I play on consoles are usually JRPGs and Sony and Nintendo usually have a better market for them. However if a new Tales game or a new Banjo Kazooie game comes then I might just be forced into another Xbox.

So if the rumors about the Xbox are all false, no always online DRM, good (or at least, as good as the 360s) backwards compatibility, will you be getting it?
Probably not. I decided after the 360 that I dont play enough multiplayer games (I only play COD right now, and nothing much else) to justify having to spend $50 a year. Thats one of the reasons I decided to go with the PS4. The rumors of the of the Online DRM and shit are sort of non-icing on the cake.

Uhh... tbh, not really.

Assassin's Creed 2 and KOTOR are holding me over pretty good atm. The new games look good, but I'm not running out to give them my money.

Quite possibly, yeah. The exclusives have to be better than good to entice me though. That being said, I want to see where Halo, Gears, and most of all, Alan Wake go. I also really hope they get their act together and make some new games.

It's not the price it's the principle.MS are locking you out of content that you've legally purchased unless you pay an extra fee on top.Almost everything a Gold subscription gets you is free everywhere else and just to top it off the dashboard is now littered with ads.

As for the free games are you referring to stuff like Doritos Crash Course?Yeah compare that to what a PS+ subscription gets you. There's no comparison

Depends on what's on it in the few years after it launches. I'm always a few years behind the curve anyways. (Hell, I didn't get a PS3 until March of this year) It's cheaper that way, and generally the hardware is more reliable after a decent wait.

As it stands, even without the rumours being true, I have very little interest in getting the next Xbox. I am almost entirely certain that it will still be flooded with advertisements on the dashboard, the marketplaces search system will still be broken and that there will still be a charge for Xbox Live.

For me to be even slightly interested they'd need to have no Xbox Live charge or if you do pay for it, no advertisements at all, as well as a decent price (the rumoured price is far too high) and exclusives that are worth it. We are nearing the end of the 360's life-cycle, and they have stopped releasing them for the most part, unless you are a die-hard fan of an on-going series (Halo and Gears of War). Which is why I traded mine in for a 3DS.

The PS4 isn't exactly blowing me away either to be honest, but the same conditions apply.
