True, but you can switch factions in the game by your actions.

Im going to start jedi, then go sith.

From what I've read this isn't possible. There are two factions and they are against each other. Or as they had said, it would be more than weird if Darth Vader came to help Luke with his quests.
Even different careers in the same faction shall have different quests. E.g. a jedi and a smuggler, while both working for the republic, won't share the same quests (except some few).

Looking at the Star Wars movies in a completely neutral and objective way, I honestly can't see so much "evil" about the Sith and "good" about the Jedi. The Sith try to eliminate the Jedi, yes, but vice versa as well. And good things can be done with the so-called "dark" side of the force, ie. Anakin's wife (albeit, he screwed that one up)

That said, I'd probably be a Sith. It's the faster route to power, and as long as I keep the power in check I'd use it for things I deem to be good.

Protip: NO ONE thinks of -themselves- as evil. Everyone believes they're helping the world, even if they're horribly misguided.

Probably neutral, since talking about force philosophies, both have their faults. Sith bring out emotion to the point of autodestruction, Jedi teach detatchment from emotions to the level of apathy. O_O If they keep the force balance system from the original games, I'm so going to be a Jolee like character.
