So, you like proprietary hardware that you have to pay more for, with less options than lets say, Linux. Yes, Linux is the basis of the whole Macintosh OSX version whatever, but with it, once configured you can use any bit of hardware that'll fit. Sorry about the pro-Linux rant, but yes, I liked apple back when they used vastly superior components (good ol' SCUSI, how I miss thee.)

Edit: Sorry about being wrong about what Macintosh OSX is based on. I should of fact-checked that before posting, but I was tired.

I work on a Mac (on osx) and Have a PC (Xp) at home.

The Mac is better until you try to plug something into it, or play games, or work remotely with other people, or...

I have Mac OSX and an XP PC over here.

From experience; I would go with a Mac, because I don't play non-console games all that much.

OS X is based on BSD and Nextstep, not Linux.

I just happen to be in my computer class while reading this.

But, myself, personally, I'm a Microsoft person. I've never tried linux, but I heard was somewhat decent, and I just can't stand Apple.s

XP Pro is the business for me. Like many though, I have yet to give Linux a try. Might have to have a little tinker around with it when I have some free time in the comp labs in college sometime.

I use Windows Vista because I'm boring and don't feel like switching to a new OS. I've never had any problems with it.
