I think its that this character is an established character not an open blank slate like say the Grey Warden in Dragon Age Origins.
Yep it's true....and you know that old saying kinda holds true when one gets the urge to go against cannon.kayisking said:[Yes but let's remember that Geralt is not gay. He just isn't, this has been established in the books. It's not homophobic to have a main character that's straight.
I didn't say that Witcher 2 specifically should feature gay romance options, my statement was more general.kayisking said:Yes but let's remember that Geralt is not gay. He just isn't, this has been established in the books. It's not homophobic to have a main character that's straight.
I put it forth as almost quantum sexuality. Unless you open the box, you don't know which way they swing. From the outside, they may be straight or gay... but if you pursue, they conveniently go the other way for you. The games are kind of wish fulfillment when you have characters like Miranda. Just go all the way with the wish fulfillment.naomeh said:I like the option when it's supposed to be your world and wholly YOUR character. Dragon Age is a great example. In that type of situation, everyone should be able to have a suitable romantic option or, like you said, avoid it altogether.
However, I don't support basically forcing every main character in existence to be bisexual just to please everyone. That makes no sense, really.
Oh how I wish it were true. Alas Geralts gay, male elf lovin' alter ego will have to remain in my artwork and fan fiction....*sigh*Netrigan said:I put it forth as almost quantum sexuality. I think you're missing the point, giving characters options to have sex with both men and women isn't forcing bisexuality, it's allowing the player to create the game world that he or she wants to and lets them role-play more accurately. If you only pick the straight options, your character's straight, if you only pick the gay options, your character's gay, and if you do a bit of both your character's bisexual.naomeh said:However, I don't support basically forcing every main character in existence to be bisexual just to please everyone.
