WoW is fun, i play it on and off, and i think that it is one of the only games that has actually gotten better every time an expansion has come out

It was pretty damn good when I played it.

But it destroys people.
No, the people destroy themselves. That's like blaming the rope for killing a suicide victim.

is this WoWheads anonymous? Ok... I fit in.

WoW was, at least, a fantastic game for the 3 1/2 years I played it. In and of itself it's not that awesome, until you start adding the people. The people and the interaction is really what made the game fantastic.

PvE gets repetitive, PvP is always out of balance, but the people were really what made the game shine.

Jesus, Hit the Decks its Flamewar 3 RUN FOR YOUR DIGITAL LIVES
Don't try to put out this Flame with water it only grows!!!

On a Serious Note, WoW never really caught me like most of the people I know, I gave it a good 14 day tile, It didn't really hook me.

Its only worth it if you have a good group of friends to play with. Five guys at work talked me into it by saying we'll play all the time. After a year I made it to level 60, 59 of them by myself! They would never show up, or they would be on another server, or they wouldn't help me through an instance because they wanted to do another one. Out of 50 PUGs, two went well, the other 48 sucked! So I quit, and I don't miss it at all. The worst thing is, I still have to pay 'cause my son took over my account and is still playing two years later!

I have 2 shams, one 80 one 72, and my 80 is elemental, the most gimped out of all 3 specs...

It's a pretty swell game. I'd play it but I don't want to pay $20 a month for it.

Well ive played (past tense) the game for 2 years, mostly just cause i wanted to play with my friends, who wouldnt play anything else. And what the entire game comes down to is grinding mobs (npc enemies). You grind them in quests, instances, for your professions, to level, going from a to b, theres really no point in the game where you arent grinding mobs. The exception is pvp, where you just grind other players, which are like harder mobs, and have some semblance of intelligence. Which leads me to my next point... wow is FULL TO THE BRIM with idiots. You cant go 5 minutes without someone spamming general chat with stupid murlock jokes or some rasist prick... being a rasist prick.
So if you happen to be one of those strange people who enjoys the grind, or are an idiot, or have no problem tolerating those issues, youll probabally enjoy wow. If you cant stand much of the stupidity on the internet, or grinding all day, you may want to go somwhere else.
Personally i prefer eve. All the idiots get stuck in the rookie channel and then give up, there are more than one way to grind (and when you do have to grind you can normally be semi afk), and while there are some pricks who will kill you just because, its normally your fault for not seeing it coming. And the "cooperation" in wow is relative to a bunch of retards pulling a wagon down the street when compared to eve which has diplomacy and military tactics comparable to real life.

It was good until the devs decided to screw with every class trying to adhere to the "bring the player, not the class" policy they obviously don't follow. Also, Arena shouldn't exist alongside a PvE game.

Dark Sakul hates the game "World of Warcarft".

Beastmasters, Rangers, Blue Mages and Puppetmasters can all to an extent either solo-level or at the very least make do with groups much smaller than the standardized six-man.
I was able to solo Black Mage all the way to 75. I could have also soloed Dancer to 75, and I'm planning on soloing Summoner off and on to 75. If you choose your subjob and your target enemies wisely, you can solo any job to 75. Some jobs are easier to do so than others. With the addition of Fields of Valor and Campaign, you can do it very easily. FoV can easily get you to 61, where you can start picking up Campaign for full XP.

People who say you can't solo in FFXI, obviously never bothered to look into trying. Sure, it's no where near as easy as it is in WoW, or any other MMO for that matter. Those people who ***** that you need to party in FFXI, obviously never played a Final Fantasy game before, nor do they realized the second M in MMO stands for Multiplayer.

Well, my primary jobs are Red Mage and White Mage, and personally I don't think I'd much enjoy soloing either to 75. '-'

But, yeah, I did notice that a lot more jobs became more easily soloable with Blue Mage or Dancer as your support job. Had some fun watching a Samurai/Dancer at 40-ish doing that before I had to stop playing.

*takes out his FFXI discs*

Gonna be away for the weekend, but I'm reinstalling on my new PC once I get back.

I can play WoW for a week or two. But after that it gets boring to me and I really, really get the need to shot someone through his head with a shotgun.
So than I boot a random shooter and do that =D

...four more days storm, four more days. (Till I can play again)

It's greatness really depends on who you play with, it's a massively social game, you can be in T9 wielding frostmourne (Dual wielding in my case :D) but your not going to have fun without friends and a good guild. (...ok I lied I would murder a few people to have that)

Also personally I've been really getting into the story-telling introduced as of Wrath so that's a plus too.

The graphics are dated but still fun and colourful, the community changes from server to server my server is full of lots of not-very good fun-loving players (last server on enUS to down KJ) which is again a plus for me as it fits.

Speaking of the community and CarbonEagle's rant, the only time I've ever encountered murloc jokes is server shutdown in cities and "The great murloc soundfile blizzard played by accident of '08"

I dont want to say what's right or not for other people, but i personally hope WoW implodes. It's alienated 17 of my freinds and both of my brothers. I miss them. ._.
