Poll: Worst breaking-up-with-someone time

I got this idea from the latest Zero Punctuation video review. So what was the worst break you've had? I've had some strange ones in my past, which is why I'm not afraid to say that I've not had a steady girlfriend for over three years now but whatever.

Anyway, This one girlfriend I had been dating for a little over three months,(this was when I was in College by the way) decides to go bat shit crazy on me and begins to wig out one afternoon over a ridiculous argument over our future lives (I won't bore you with the details). She storms out of my apartment and I later on leave for class. Thinking it's just an argument and it will all blow over I thought I'll come back later and talk to her again. Now I gave her a spare key to my apartment because at the time she worked nights and lived out of town, so sometimes I would let her stay at my place on occasion to get some sleep. Well when I got back to my apartment from class, I found my fridge door open, my cupboards all open and ALL OF MY FOOD GONE! I went outside thinking someone robbed me, but none of my valuable stuff was missing just my food (this was also after I spent $100 on groceries the day before). And then it hit me, my apartment door was locked when I got back from class that means someone used a key to get in. So I knew it was her. So I called her, asked her if she'd been to my place, and she said "check the dumpster" and sure enough in the complex community dumpster was all my food even the spoiled food was in there!

Suffice to say that relationship was over. So whats your strangest/worst break-up moment?

Being told that I was never allowed to speak to any of my female friends ever again. I can cope with certain levels of clingy or protective, and I could understand if I was doing more than just standing there talking to them, but some of my best friends are girls, there's no way I'm not gonna talk to them just because I'm told to.

And for the record, I got on well with all of her best friends even if they were guys, so I was kind of hoping for a little more leniency than "can't see friends ever again".

That's always a good sign that a break-up is imminent. XD

As for me all my break ups have been completely uneventful apart from both parties feeling better or worse about it.

My first 'real' girlfriend broke up with me over the phone.. Through a friend.

This dude rang me up and was like "Hey man, where are you?" and I was all "Uhh.. at home" then there was a few seconds of silence and he goes "...Wait, didn't Kayla tell you about tonight?" "No?" "..Uhh hang on, I'll call you back" then a few minutes later he rang back and said "Yeah, she wants to break up.. Sorry man"

Not that I blame her, haha I was to nervous to hug her sometimes =D

We do stupid stuff, cry, grow up, look back and laugh.

I haha had a girlfriend who was religious, yes, and i knew it but i decided that il let it go.


She breaks up with me because she was reading about Jacob and Rachel in the bible and then a day later at a party we were at she found out her friend Jacob liked her.

She took it as a sign from God.
She broke up with me soon afterwards.

I can totally sympathise with that. My first girlfriend (who was also first kiss incidently) told me that she didn't want to be in a relationship at that time, and she just wanted to be friends with me. Within a week she was in a relationship with our friend Jessica...

What exactly did you argue over? anyway i never get a reason they break up, they just say oh i dont feel like being in a relationship now, period.

I had this one girl friend for a total of 30 seconds in my senior year of high school. This girl walked up to my friends and I while we were hanging around in our "turf" at school. She was one of those preppy, upper middle class, popular girls that you see in the movies. She just had the nerve to walk up to me and ask if I wanted to "go out." Naturally I said yes, and then resumed to talk to my friends. Before should get out of ear shot, I called her back, looked her into the eye, and said some cheesy break up line. It was something like We've been together for awhile, and I think it's time to see other people. At the point she looked crushed, while my friends and I pointed and laughed, then spread rumors about the incident.

DEAR GOD! High school was fun.
