but what if they reach 30?
The better question would be: When will they reach 30?
Oh c'mon, You all know it's going to happen.
I've noticed a serious trend with the
Final Fantasy franchise over the last few years: they've started announcing the next installment before the one currently in development even comes out (as seen with
Final Fantasy XIV being announced before
XIII has been released).
Soon enough, they'll overlap each other, and
Final Fantasy XIX and
XX will be announced and released at the exact same moments. After that,
Final Fantasy XXII will be announced before
XXI, and then it's all downhill from there. By the time
Final Fantasy XXX is released, they'll have only announced
XXVII.
At around the time
Final Fantasy XL is announced and
Final Fantasy IL is released, Square-Enix will aggressively buy-out all the rest of the game developers in the industry and pit them all together to work on
Final Fantasy L, which will have equal parts first-person shooter, turn-based role-playing, real-time Western role-playing, third-person exploration, point-and-click adventuring, real-time strategy planning and MMO questing elements, all combined into a single game. Needless to say, the game will go through many iterations over the years, experiencing many delays in development and production, letting it being overshadowed by the announcement and release of many other
Final Fantasies, such as the MMO juggernaught,
Final Fantasy LXIV: World of Final Fantasy; the ultimate first-person shooter experience,
Final Fantasy LXIX: Call of Halo: Gears of Final Fantasy War; and the best life simulation game ever,
Final Fantasy LXXII: The Sims 7. Soon, all hype about
Final Fantasy L is lost in the swarm of media surrounding the dozens of other titles that Square-Enix releases and announces each year.
Twelve years later, after
Final Fantasy CCL has been released, the studio developing
Final Fantasy L closes, and the game is finally cancelled, all to much apathy. Soon after, at the same press address where they announce
Final Fantasy D, Square-Enix announces that it is closing its doors, having expended too much of its resources for prospective future projects to properly fund their current projects, which leaves the video game industry in ruins.
Beware, people. The end is nigh. Boycott
Final Fantasy, before it's too late!
