I would say 2001 because of that whole thing, but I'm a selfish bastard so I'll say 2009.

I went through a particularly traumatic experience at the start of the year.

2001 for obvious reasons.
2009 personally, lot of personal losses this year. It feels like everyone's dropping like flies. School hasn't gone too well either. Can't wait for this year to end.

2003, only because I was in elementary school and didn't know much about the world apart from reading the newspapers, so I was petrified when we went to war. In terms of actual horribleness, 2009 is/was pretty awful, if only because of the 15 college applications I had to fill out.

i have honestly hated 2009 and was the worst and the best year for me by far. however i wouldnt say it's the worst year ut 2001 wasn't so bad but it's going to get all the votes for 9/11 but there has been worse things this decade than that
