there are no negative aspect's to this.

You've set it up so that you basically get 10 million dollars for 365 days of nothing.

I wouldn't even care if there was no internet, no TV, no Video games. At the end of it i'd have 10 million dollars which you could easily live off of interest(at 5% you'd be getting 500k a year) So you'd have unlimited time to catch up on anything you missed.

I think the real issue would be is there anyone else worth interacting with their.

Otherwise, i have a beer gut that could probably do with getting rid of, and a year of what by the sounds of it is obligation free(no job or anything) would be an easy way to do that.

I think though that the second you said people could be evicted, or there was only one winner people would start changing there mind. But at the moment you are essentially saying your making Big Brother a Town. For a year. Guaranteed win if you don't decide to quit.

And really if you make it a month your probably gonna make it a year. Since the only thing that would make you leave after that point would be boredom. Or if they released a serial killer

Only if my skating coach and skating partner are there too, since i kinda want to keep that up. other then practicing skating this would make an awesome time for me to practice my piano, and (as others have said) play ANYTHING i wanted that wasn't multiplayer.

I'd also just before leaving order every game and movie i ever wanted to watch, the best PC ever made, and all the video game consoles that currently exist, and take it all home :3

Its a sad state that almost everybody is prepared to give themselves, completely, to someone for what are essentially a few sheets of paper. But heres my reasoning; I find the idea of each an every second of my life being public for year much, MUCH less degrading than spending my ENTIRE life slaving away for fuck all.

Once I have that 10 million, im set. Im free. I can buy my freedom. I can finally pursue things that fascinate me without worrying in the slightest about finances. I could never do that without that. People want to watch me play Skyrim and maybe whack off once in a while for a fucking year (thats peanuts, dude, only one fucking year) and after that I can buy a cottage in Wales, England and Scotland, spend a few years wandering between the three, admiring ruins of old castles and monasteries, taking in the countryside, or maybe fly to America to see if the people there really are as stupid as they are portrayed, or go to Africa, or move to Munich and buy a season ticket for my favorite football team, or marry a woman and have children I can actually provide for properly... Endless possibilities.

All of these things will most likely never come true because I will be preoccupied working in a job I hate for a measly salary, not being able to afford a holiday, or falling ill at a young age and dying because I cant pay for treatment. As you might have guessed, im in a rather depressed state right now, mainly because its becoming more and more clear that the situation I am in is not going to change.

So yes OP, I would do it in a heart beat. If anyones doing something like that, call me. Ill be there as fast as I can. (A man can dream, right? )

Wow, you're projecting pretty heavily there. Look, all I can say is that for me personally money isn't that important to me. Not to the point that I'd be willing to be somebody's Goddamn lab rat. If I felt hollow and worthless as I do now going in, I'd feel much much worse about myself coming out after that, I'm just not the kind of person that can hack being watched like that. Sure, life sucks right now but I've got plenty of years ahead of me to change that, to earn my own fortune, to do something I love for a living and create something that will live in people's memmories for generations to come (aspiring screenwriter here). Admittedly it's highly unrealistic but it's not going to kill me to try, I'd prefer to have something to show for my life rather than take the easy way out. Okay, we're getting really off topic here, so all I'll say is that there are just certain lines I'm not willing to cross and this is one of them.

Aside from the obvious advantage of being rich after doing this for a year (and since you wouldn't really be working, you could spend the year learning new skills as other people have suggested) I think it'd be pretty fun. I'm sure there'd be endless possibilities for screwing with the audience, if you really wanted to make it clear that you disagreed with the whole thing.

There's a movie that's pretty similar to this concept called the Truman Show.


The only difference is that he doesn't have any idea he's on tv. Even for a Jim Carrey movie, it's pretty good.

That's my final word on the matter, it's not just that I truly wouldn't want to go through with it, but that I just absolutely could not force myself through this. Somebody else on here said the paranoia would lead them to kill everyone else in the community, which I thought rather apposite for me as well. If you could stomach this kind of thing then good for you, but I really could not put myself through that shit even if actually wanted to.
