Would anyone? Of course, I'm surprised Activision hasn't slapped a fee on it even now. They'd make more millions than they already are. There are fans so dediacted to the series they'd still go through with it even if they had to pay with their own blood.

Would I personally? - No

Would ANYONE? Most Likely

It's too much of a popular game, with lots of hardcore fans, despite how much I despise it.

That's not how business work
You fail to account for 1 variable: Robert 'Bobby' Kotick. He is an arse of a man IMO and nothing is beyond him if it will make Activision more money. He has already stated that if he could do one thing for Activision, he would make CoD a subscription model game.

It's only a matter of time before MMOs are released for consoles
No Joke, I think Dust 415 almost fits the MMO description and thats coming out sometime soonish (As in, the trailer is out. Not being a console user I didn't bother looking for a release date)

Is this question inspired by what Kotick said? Because I'm pretty sure it was a joke.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't. If it will earn Activision money, he will likely do it. And there are any number of 'suckers' who would pay to play CoD as a subscription model.

Personally, I'm hoping he does this so that the real hardcore CoD fans stay with CoD, yet everyone else who was just going along for the ride try some other FPSs, and will probably find them to be better than CoD.
Eh, doubtful. I can't think of much thats really better. Battlefield series, but most battlefield guys seem to play CoD too. To be honest it doesn't really deserve much of the ragging it gets either. Haters gonna hate and all that though, games popular so folks are gonna let 'er rip. For a shooter MW 1 and 2 have extremely solid game design. There is essentially no cutscenes, they do a good job with immersion, levels are polished, solid voice acting...... If anything the Treyarch games are giving the series a bad rap at this point.

In short I'm really not sure what more anyone could ask of it, other than it not be so popular. And just because it is popular doesn't make it less good.

As for the Kotick thing, he was asked in an interview somewhere if he had one wish what would it be. He said he would wish that tomorrow MW:2 was subscription based.

As much as I dislike him, the particular attention to this ranks about an 8 on the "blown the shit out of proportion meter." Seemed like a comment he made with not much thought, and given that was about a year ago and we haven't heard anymore from it I think its safe to say someone else in the Activision leadership bitchslapped it out of him.

It probably would make them money, and its possible they do it well. I really do think another MMOFPS to compete with the embalmed corpse of planetside (the only real player in the genre atm) would be great. Now if one of these stupid publishers would quit churning out WoW clones and make WoCoD already we could all see for ourselves.

It depends what they did with it. If it were like any other cod multiplayer on a disk with a campaign I would be enraged. But if it were a secluded download with enough content and constant enough free updates I might consider it.

It's really not good enough personally to warrant paying a subscription for this game. Especially due to the fan base. I find it hard enough to pay for map packs.

Personally, no.

But no doubt people would still do it. They'd be stupid for it, but they'd still do it.

I asked my brother this question the other day and he said hell yes, even though he pays for Xbox Live. I would never, but then again i'm not a huge COD fan.
I'm a big fan of COD, but no. Some people would do it, but I'm not one of them. I find the very idea insulting. I payed you 60 bucks for your multiplayer(god knows I wouldn't pay for that campaign) and now you charge me a sub. F You. However, if they didn't charge for the actual game, or you could download the multiplayer from xbox live for like 5$ or less, then I might do the sub, depending on how expensive it is.
