Or, good ol' fashioned backstab. Easily substitutable with an Eyelander/Targe charge.Sebenko said:Agreed. Valve sure spent a lot of effort balancing everything.Sephychu said:To avoid, you just have to be conscious of cover and staying out of their line of sight. Futhermore, playing as them is truly joyous, if a little tedious in brown, gritty fps games. TF2's sniper system is my favourite.
If you don't like being sniped, be a scout, run rings around the offending sniper then "BAM!", scattergun (or, in my case, Force-a-nature) to the face. Or even pistol. I out-snipered a sniper that way once. With a good dose of luck, though.
this. if snipers would be removed then the stupid speed knifers and shotgunners would become even more unbalanced (in mw2) and in other games people could just run around without a care in the world wielding a noobtube launcherDeadlock Radium said:Would wars be better without snipers?
Sniping is a crucial part of the "war-feeling" in games, without snipers, it's not a war game.
I don't have any problems with snipers.
The only thing games could be without is NoobTubes. I hate those.
[SUB]Going against NoobTubers with a single fire M14 Assault Rifle is hell..[/SUB]
Of course, I wouldn't go sniper unless there were none or up to 2 others, or the team was especially useless and seemingly didn't know that you actually had to plant on/disarm the objectives (which seems to happen far too much)and just needed someone crazy enough to fight through the flimsy defensive lines and actually plant the thing. (BTW have you noticed hardly anyone can seem to fly the helicopters well? or at all for that matter? you always get so many people that THINK they can fly them...(This is is topic related because they are insanely easy sniping targets for anyone who understands basic bullet physics))Newkenyanguy said:depends on the balance of the team, nothing worse than having 10 of 12 players being snipers as it ends with rush games ending with the defends winning without even needing to try. I admit I do love some sniping but I find it doesnt win games too oftenPhenakist said:You just need sniping, sniping in BC2 is the difference between most Arms/Disarms on Rush, and therefore play a big part in the game, not to sound boastful, but I've probably been the difference between winning and loosing games when I've been sniping for that very reason, everyone else just runs around like headless chickens trying to get kills nowhere near the OBJECTIVES and if there's a plant (because one enemy has just effortlessly sprinted through behind a bit of cover) they'll only move towards it when the beeping gets to it's highest and there's 2 seconds left on the thing. You know it's true.
This game me the mental image that online gaming would be about skipping and happily singing hymms if it weren't for those menacing snipers.Ghostkai said:Snipers stop people from running around without a care in the world.
