Well, at home, I have my parents and a younger brother. If any of them walked around in their skivvies then I'd be a little bit annoyed, because frankly, I don't want to see my family in their underwear.

As for housemates, I currently live with four other guys, and five girls. In a few months I'll be moving into a flat with two girls, one who's a good friend of mine and another who I haven't yet met. In all of those cases, I reckon it gets a little more awkward, since I don't really want to see my friends in their underwear either since I'm not attracted to any of them (and two of my housemates are actually dating each other). But on the other hand, some of the girls I live with are pretty damn attractive...

I am a triplet, and have 2 sisters. It is currently quite warm in my house, about 32C (my dad is cheap, he refuses to turn on the AC until he can no longer sleep!) so she for the past few days has been walking around in her skivvies. This bugs me a lot.

When someone is bugging me or creeping me out I turn the tables and creep them out. It is really easy to do.

Anyway. Ask her to get dressed if it bugs you. If I had a sister around my age and she did that, I would likely be bothered by it enough to say "put on some damn clothes!".

I walk around in just my boxers and no one complains, so I would extend the same courtesy to any of the females of the household. They're family, so it isn't like it's really distracting. No different than being at the beach with them essentially.

Now if they we're walking around topless, then yeah we might have a problem. You're related to me, I don't want to see your tits.

I'm of the belief that all nudity should be consensual. I don't mind being naked, or nudity, but if it makes someone uncomfortable, I'll keep it in my proverbial pants (proverbial because when it's hot out, dresses are way more comfortable than trousers).

I wouldn't find it annoying at all, I don't have a sister but my brother walks around in his boxers all the time and it never bothers me. When it gets that hot out I'm in a tanktop and my undies too, I don't see the difference.

OT: I don't think it would really matter if my sister were walking around in her underwear. Hell, she already walks around in a bikini in the summer, so I can't imagine underwear would be a problem. Maybe if she went outside in it, but that's dad's territory to correct. I don't really notice anyway. I'm too busy chatting up these forums (damn the Escapist for being so awesomely addictive!)

Seriously, though, if it's making you uncomfortable, say something. Worst that happens is they ignore your concerns.

You're making too much of a big deal out of it. They're your family, for fuck's sake. They're the people who you might have seen poop themselves and piss their bed some time ago. Or, if you're the younger one, same applies to them.

Get over it, really. Fuck, I've been to a sauna with most of my family, which can be described as sitting practically naked in a really hot room and sweating.

I don't think it would bug me even if everyone walked naked. Yes, people in your family too have sexual organs, you parents included. Else you probably wouldn't be here. And your grandparents. And just about every one else. The taboo is ridiculous, get over it and quit being ashamed of what all people are underneath the clothes.
