I'd back him. I like his work and it'd be a shame to see it vanish. I find him more entertaining as a reviewer than anyone and yet he still manages to get a proper review in under all that pretense. I wouldn't make him rich, but I'd toss some in the pot.

No.

I've always felt that his shtick got fairly stale after the first couple months on the site. His show is still entertaining enough to view...but genuine laughs are very few and far between. I more watch his show to uncover genuine flaws in games that are often left out of legit reviews.

Kudos for ZP finding such enormous success on this site but it's not a stand out show for me.
Not worth my money to support but still good enough to kill 5 minutes a week on.

No. Sooner or later, I'm going to have to draw the line at how much money I can afford to donate to Patreon, which'll mean that I'll be unable to enjoy at least part of what they produce any more.

As more and more people who do similar things decide to set up Patreon accounts, each will likely see a diminishing number of backers. I can just enjoy his stuff here for free.

I plan on starting a patreon for my puppet videos on youtube. Because I've made a "whopping" $1.30 on 2000 views so far. At this rate it will take years just to make back what I spent on materials. Disheartening to see all the "Booo patreon!" comments. :\ Might have to include giving up as an possible plan of action going forward.

No. I'm bored of ZP to be honest, I haven't watched it in like a year, so even I bothered to watch it again it's not something I'd pay for.

Since I have seen this in a couple comments I want to point out that Patreon has two primary models. The first is the monthly one, that is the one where you give the creator a flat amount a month and you get your reward tier.

The other method that I have seen video producers using the per video method. Rather then give per month, you give per video created and can set a monthly max that your willing to give. So there is one person I support with $1 per video for a maximum of $4 a month. I like this method better as you are paying for the content and not directly to the person. If they create more, they get more, and if they do nothing, they get nothing.

Then again nearly every person I support on Patreon has a history of putting out content consistently along a schedule. It's feels a little safer to just give Linkara my money when I have watched the majority of his videos, liked the content, and has a history of always getting his stuff out.

Yeah, I probably would. He's pretty much the only reason I come to this site anyway. Plus, I shell out $5 a month to the guy who writes "The Adventures of Dr. McNinja" on Patreon, and that's been nothing but a good experience so far. I get to see the new comic pages early, plus some occasional nice extras. I mean, I can always cancel a pledge, so if I'm displeased with his performance after a few months, I can always stop giving him more money.

I hope he stays here, though. This site would be dead in the water without him.

Eh...I wouldn't be so discouraged. Mostly because there are many ways in which you can use Patreon that people aren't aware of including what Bookerlove said above. My personal favorite method if I was a customer is the idea that I'll get content for free and also a backlog of additional content that only Patreons will receive via e-mail. That way people get a tangible reward instead of just backing the person while also enjoying the free content that also promotes the person. Now I know this isn't possible for everyone, and perhaps not in your situation, but I really just think it is the way you go about doing these things.

Yup I would. His reviews are my Wednesday Dose of chuckles, giggles with a side order of guffaws.. Why if I didn't have him to laugh at I don't know what would happen to my co-workers supervisors or managers... Already the loss of Bob and Jim has had me thinking of unhealth applications of Deli Slicer.

Well I haven't supported anyone else on Patreon so I would have to say no.

Nope, for the same reasons as many others, I don't pay in advance for entertainment. My only exception to this has been donating to SciShow via Subbables, which I do because it is educational. I want that kind of content to continue regardless of if I watch it the day it comes out.

That answer is really easy. Not a chance in hell. Sure like a lot of people I discovered this site through him but he quickly became my least favorite thing here. Fact of the matter is that I don't know what ZP is actually supposed to be. Is it supposed to be a comedy show? Is it supposed to be a real review of a game? Is it supposed to be both? Also its very clear that he is basically the hermit of the Escapist choosing not to get involved with anything that has anything to do with anything. Not saying he should toss his hat in a certain ring but good God he just goes. "Here's ZP, here' EP see you next week." He's so dull.

I'm not a big fan of kickstarters, so nope. Not to mention that paying for reviews seems kinda silly, but if he moved to youtube i would follow him and there wouldn't be any interesting content left on this site. No offence to the other guys, i do enjoy their videos and articles, but if they don't involve anything that i'm particulary interested in i mostly ignore them.

To be honest no, I enjoy his content but I don't use things like Patreon or Kickstarter anymore. However I would make sure his site/channel or whatever was added to a certain browser plugins exception list, if he had it setup I would tip him with a little bit of Crypto Currency which isn't much but he could use it online for services and items etc if he collected enough.

Yes. Not a lot, but yes. I would've bought some terrible games if I hadn't seen his reviews of them first, and there are a few games I wouldn't have purchased and enjoyed for the same reason.

No, because multiple Patreon donations add up really quickly. However, I'd totally will if it's a one time thing.

Yes. It might only be $1 or $2 a month, but I definitely would support him. He's what lead me to the Escapist in the first place, and most of the content I found and enjoyed is now gone.

Probably not but that's got more with me being a broke-ass student than it has anything to do with me not liking Mr. Crowshaw's work. Maybe when I'm actually not worried about how I'm going to manage food for the next week I'd consider it. :p
