Why not?

That Bear Simulator thing that's supposed to be like Skyrim but with a bear? I'm looking forward to that. A lot.

Certainly!

Tokyo Jungle, there was a japanese brawler where you could unlock an animal creature (I forget what it was. tiger? Wolf?) that I dug, Sims 3 pets where I enjoyed stints as nothing but a house pet. I feel like I'm omitting some games I played before. Can't remember.

Does Mr. Mosquito count? Granted he was something of a humanoid shape, you basically did what mosqitos do. Drink blood, annoy people, and survive. Coz that's how mosquito do.

And i'm not talking about Sonic or Donkey Kong.

No, a real animal. Everybody likes tigers, right? So you'd be a tiger, doing tiger things. You'd have an open world without any traditional objectives or missions. The only thing you'd have to care about would be survival. Hunting & fighting would be most of the gameplay obviously, but let's add a group of human hunters trying to kill you aswell to create some extra tension. Maybe even like DayZ with other gamers playing tigers, lions and predators.

It doesn't even have to be tigers. Eagles, sharks, elephants, take your pick.

Now, i'm fairly new here, so i'm sorry if this question has been asked before.

It's just that i've recently thought about how many animals i've fought agianst and how many i've actually played as in my life as a gamer. Real animals, not talking, sentient beings that look like animals.

Or alernatively, you could name a game that fits my description.
Tokyo Jungle is pretty much that: an open-world survival game where you play as an animal.

I haven't played it myself but the Wii has an exclsuive called Deadly Creatures. It's a game where you take turns playing as either a snake or a spider. I haven't played it yet but it seemed interesting. I can't remember what critics thought of it either...There's also Echo the Dolphin though I don't know how accurate that game represents life as a Dolphin. I answered "yes" on the poll though.

I prefer playing as realistic animals, which means they don't talk or do anything that'd give it a human-personality. Tokyo Jungle was pretty awesome.

There is that one game on steam where you play as a female badger trying to get you and your babies to safety. It's pretty short though and not really open-world. The name escapes me at the time.
The game's called "Shelter", there is actually a sequel coming out soon where you play a mommy lynx with her lynx kittens.

Related to this I remember there being a "Bear Simulator" on kickstarter or indiegogo, which I believe was successful in acquiring enough backers.

The concept of playing an animal in an interactive environment has appeal, but I haven't really dipped my toes in the water yet, I look at these games with morbid curiosity for now.

One game I'd love to see is HOUSE CAT SIMULATOR, a game split in 2 phases: the house phase (where you laze around and exploit your human masters as you will) and the outdoor phase which would be a cat GTA where you try to extend your turf and engage in deadly staring contests with the cats of the neighbors. And think of the DLC possibilities!
Stray cat DLC, kitten race cosmetic and skill packs (Persian cat pack for only 2.99$!)..This could be a godmine!
There's a game idea somewhere in here I tell you.
